Matt Sydal has told those close to him that he will likely sign a WWE Developmental Deal soon. TNA and various Japanese promotions were all interested in Sydal. In the end he decided to chase his life long dream and take a chance on the WWE. Credit: Wrestlinginc I really really hope he doesn't because then that's just another great Indy talent that left to join WWE only to get mis-used and get loads of restrictions put on them. :/ I was angry enough when I found out that he was thinking of going to TNA, but now that it's WWE of all things that makes matters even worse! .

he'll last one year before he gets tired of jobbing on heat and wwe feels they have nothing for him at the time and they wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Misused?
Oh yeah, avoiding injury to lengthen carrers is definately misusing talent.

He'll be in OVW for a year, then when there is a huge roster cut, he'll be fired and then everyone will bitch that he was fired and didn't even get to show off his talent.

How's it worse than TNA. At least in WWE he would have a guaranteed cheque, insurance if injured while working, and maybe WWE will use him. WWE seems to like ROH talent so you never know.

Sydal could play the role of a cocky heel well in the WWE so why not take the money Vince is offering.

Im so sick of people badmouthing a wrestler when they decide to join WWE or even TNA. Most every wrestler on the independent scene has and still dreams of making it to the WWE one day. Reguardless of how they are used, WWE brings job security, which the independents don't. Quit being so damn selfish and be happy that your favorite wrestler's life long dream is becoming true.

I have a feeling Sydal will do just fine. Sure they are gonna tone him down but they did the same with London, Kendrick & soon Teddy Hart. It's just WWE's way of doing things. Sydal has plenty of offense to still succeed in WWE. I agree that giving him a cocky gimmick and throwing him with someone hot will do wonders for him.
Why not just see how well he does first? CM Punk is doing better than anyone had first thought. I have a good feeling Cabana, Sydal & Teddy(if he behaves enough to make it) will all get decent pushes.

I think one of the most interesting aspects of this story is the fact that Sydal looks to be choosing WWE over TNA. To me this is yet another example of morale plummeting in TNA. Would things have played out the same way if it was 2 years ago or early 2006?

I know just look at how they are using Punk. Making him the top face of one of their brands...the bastards. London and Kendrick have done horrible having the tag titles for almost a year. RVD holding them two world titles at a time was really keeping him on the undercard. The way they suddenly stopped pushing Edge when he got smaller and started winning world titles. HBK, Bret, Backlund, Carlito, Cody, Mysterio and Hornwoogle have all been treated like they are worthless. If you are talented enough and almost have the total package you will be pushed. Sydal apart from size does pretty much have the total package I wouldn't be suprised if he does very well. All this wasn't directed purely at you, I just singled you out as an example.

WWE has officially announced that they have signed Ring of Honor/Wrestling Society X star Matt Sydal. There is no word on when he is expected to report to their developmental territory however he is expected to fulfill his contractual obligations.
Sydal has been a very hot commodity since the demise of WSX. Both TNA and ROH have made negations with him.

That's not what you quoted at all though. Where did WWE officially announce the signing?
