im not sure if this is the right thread but, "EA™ will release a SKATE demon on Xbox Live® Marketplace on August 15th so players can experience first-hand the title's groundbreaking new gameplay style - a new way of playing skateboarding games that will invigorate the genre. The downloadable demo features tutorials and gameplay challenges in San Vanelona's community center skatepark to introduce gamers to SKATE's revolutionary Flickit controls. The demo also includes the innovative skate.reel feature where gamers can capture video footage of their skate session at any time during the demo and share the footage online for other players to view, rate and comment on."
seems like a great game

Well, it's the right thread, but your info is wrong. From (the newly uncensored) 1Up: We know better than to put too much stock in demo release dates, but it's safe to say that more than a few of us were looking forward to the Skate demo originally expected to hit the Xbox Live Marketplace tomorrow, August 15th. No such luck, it seems. According to Producer Scott Blackwood, the Skate demo has been "delayed for a few days," though "hopefully not more than a week." What's the hitch this time around? "We are trying something completely new for an Xbox Marketplace demo by allowing people to play the game and upload footage to our Skate website," said Blackwood on the EA Forums. "The thing is: the skate.reel video upload functionality is much more technically complex than a standard offline demo. So after submitting it to [Microsoft], we got blindsided by a technical (server related) issue we needed to address. Unfortunately it wasn't really something that could have been avoided - just an unfortunate side-effect of doing something totally new in a demo environment." Blackwood mentioned later in the forum thread that the demo is unlikely to hit the Marketplace before the weekend, but that new footage of the game is expected tomorrow as "a small consolation." Luckily, the demo delay will not affect the release of the final game, which is slated for September 12th on the Xbox 360 and September 24th on the PlayStation 3.

Either way it's going to be a sweet demo.

Run for your lives! Seriously, though, I'd care a bit more if I had a working 360. Still, good news, nonetheless.

Dammit to hell. 9/24? That's over a month away. I want to try this so bad, I've been waiting for a realistic skating game for years.
