As noted in the Final Battle 2007 Results thread, the Age of the Fall now has tag gold. Tyler Black and Jimmy Jacobs defeated the Briscoe Brothers in what was said to be an "excellent match". Now coming from a Jimmy Jacobs mark, this moment is monumental. But how do you feel about it? Do you think AotF can carry the ROH tag division? Do you think they are nothing but transitional champs, or do you think they will have a lengthy title reign? What direction do you think they will go with this, now that they have defeated the "drunkards" ( ) that represent all the things wrong with Ring of Honor? Most of all, do you think they actually deserve the belts? If not, why? Be prepared to have a good reason for your answers. Let's make this an intelligent and active discussion.

I kind of feel teams have come and went that deserved to beat Jay & Mark, Steenerico and NRC, just to name two.
But I'm happy with the new champions, very happy. If not confused as to what this means for a title run. I think the Vulture Squad cool be a strong threat to those belts, but I Jimmy's mic work can bring forth a reign of real tag team dominance.
It's iffy, I'm never sure with how Gabe books Jimmy. I like the fact Age of the Fall capitalized on a weakened Briscoes. NRC being the first team to beat Briscoes at their own game... to an extent.

I'm ing thrilled it went to Jimmy and Black. I doubt they hold them through the 6th Anniv. show. Though, I'd love for them to have a good, long run.

It seemed like that would be a great way to end the long fued between the two teams, but I guess it made since that they didn't win, because of the aftermath of the ladder match. It's iffy, I'm never sure with how Gabe books Jimmy. I like the fact Age of the Fall capitalized on a weakened Briscoes. NRC being the first team to beat Briscoes at their own game... to an extent. Gabe books Jimmy very...intrestingly. It's like he will have him go over a main guy one night, then job to a mid-carder another weekend. Ya know?

I think AOTF deserved this reign. This is a good faction has a good storyline that got ROH some much needed press. Briscoes cant win every single match. Its a make sense title change, but I dont see them having an incredibly long reign.

I was getting sick of the Briscoes with the belts but I do wish that Jacobs and Black were built up a little better before taking the tag titles. With that said I don't see them holding the titles for very long. The Briscoes will probably get them back as soon as the 6th Anniversary Show. I do wonder what this means for upcoming events though. Black & Necro are booked to work the Briscoes in Edison and the Briscoes were booked to wrestle Jack & Ruckus in Dayton. I wouldn't be surprised if the cards get shuffled around a little bit.

Necro/Black would've done more for me, but at least they're off the hicks.

Honestly, I don't think they could have waited any longer. Alot of people were starting to lose intrest. I think something had to happen quick, and that time was perfect tonight. I think the Briscoes will retain by the 6th Annicersary show, too. Guess we will have to wait and see how things work out.

I wonder.....would they let AOTF defend the titles Freebird style? Meaning the belts could be defended by any combination of the three. I'd love that....

I dont have a problem with them being champs, I welcome it. I wouldnt call them transitional champs, but for right now I'm labeling them as gimmick champs. Both have proved themselves to me as singles wrestlers, but I have yet to be sold on them as a team. They have big shoes to fill to follow after the Briscoes reign.

I think that they'll hang onto the belts for a good amount of time. The only team that I see taking the belts off them is the Briscoes. Steenerico will probably get a shot at the belts, as well, but I don't think that they're going to be the winners.

That would be pretty cool. Yeah I'm also fond to the idea, so long as Lacey isn't "forced" into any situation. I don't need to see that bullsh~t, but overall it'd be cool for a free-lance tag team holding the titles. Freebird style. And onto the Briscoes, I was honestly feeling like they were the Cena's of ROH tag team wrestling. The main and only focuse. But maybe the Briscoes will fall back, I'd personally like to see AOTF take on VG for a while.

I am happy to see the belt crowned to the Age Of The Fall, as well it was going to happen soon, and would be needed. I mean look at Tyler Black, and Jimmy Jacobs, both are great in ring, and well the Brisco brothers held it long enough, and I was tired of the big moves in every show thing, or really match. They should have saved them, for the bigger matches, but that is just a small thing, well also I am a huge AOTF fan, so that could say a lot.
