PWG All Star Weekend 6 Night 1
1/5/08 - Van Nuys, CA
1. PWG World Title Match: Low Ki defeated Bryan Danielson to win the PWG World Title.
2. El Generico defeated Karl Anderson following a Brainbuster.
3. Scorpio Sky defeated Ronin.
4. Joey Ryan and Scott Lost defeated Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black.
5. Jack Evans defeated Roderick Strong following the 630 Splash.
Intermission
6. Masato Yoshino and Naruki Doi defeated Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson.
7. Alex Koslov defeated TJ Perkins.
8. CIMA defeated Susumu Yokosuka.
9. If Hero's Team Wins He Wrestles Tornado On Night 2, If Tornado's Team Wins He Wrestles Larae On Night 2: The Human Tornado, Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston defeated Chris Hero, The Necro Butcher and Candace LaRae when Kingston pinned Hero following a Backdrop Driver. As a result of their win, The Human Tornado will face Candace LaRare tomorrow night and Hero and Necro Butcher will be barred from ringside.
Notes:
-Attendance looks to be around 400 people.
-Super Dragon isn't there so Low Ki challenged Bryan Danielson for the PWG World Title to open the show. The match went about 20-minutes and was mostly mat-work and MMA-inspired stuff. CIMA will most likely be wrestling Susumu Yokosuka in a singles match-up tonight.
-After his win against Ronin, Scorpio Sky did the classic "make a belt motion around my waist with my hands" taunt. He may challenge Low Ki for the PWG World Title in the future.
-The X-Foundation/D.I.F.H match was said to be really cool with a lot of double team moves. Former WWE World Women's Champion and Playboy Covergirl Candice Michelle is in attendance and wearing a Joey Ryan t-shirt.
-The crowd was quite dead for Perkins/Koslov, but it was a pretty solid match.
-The main event was said to be pretty wild with all 6 people fighting outside in the rain and slipping all over the place. Necro was throwing pebbles at people. LaRae apparently took the stiffest kick ever during the match.

From Adair on SCU:
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla
Van Nuys, CA // January 6, 2008
Attendance: 300
NOTES: show starts 20 minutes late because of ring problems -- still better than most indies.
Dino Winwood returns and announces CIMA vs. Bryan Danielson. Excalibur criticizes the commissioner's reliance on rematches, calls it "a valid criticism."
Match One
Karl Anderson submits Alex Koslov
NOTES: really good match. Koslov and Anderson have far better showings on Night Two. Koslov gets a "please come back" chant.
Match Two
Chris Hero beats Eddie Kingston
NOTES: They start brawling before the introductions. Hard-hitting brawl; some brutal strikes. Match appears to have been cut short after Hero hurts his knee. Finish was a roll-up. Awesome match until the unfortunate finish. Hope Hero's ok...
Match Three
Tyler Black & Jimmy Jacobs submit Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson
NOTES: Crowd is filling out -- looks to be about 350. Good match! Age of the Fall are a great fit for PWG
Match Four
Roderick Strong submitted Jack Evans
NOTES: series is tied at one a piece. Final match to determine the Number One Contender is January 27th
Match Five
Human Tornado beats Candice LaRae by DQ
NOTES: MOTY. Tornado punks a 'white bitch' in the crowd on his way to the ring. Candice takes a BEATING!!
Match goes from good family fun to seriously uncomfortable to surprisingly competitve and then to totally ing awesome.
Finish comes when Tornado attempts to put his dick in LaRae's mouth, prompting a Hero/Necro (who were barred from ringside) run in and causing the DQ.
This leads to the next match: Necro Butcher vs. Claudio Castagnoli.
Match Six
Necro Butcher beats Claudio Castagnoli
NOTES: Insane match! Spot of the night comes when Claudio hammer swings Necro Butcher through an entire section of chairs. ing brutal.
INTERMISSION!
Match Seven
El Generico beats Susumu Yokosuka
NOTES: the absolute perfect match to follow Claudio/Necro. Brings the crowd back to life after intermission. Really great stuff.
Night One was really good, but so far Night Two blows it out of the water! Such awesome stuff.
Match Eight
Joey Ryan & Scott Lost beat Masato Yoshino & Naruki Doi
NOTES: the Dragon Gate guys have been really impressive tonight. Lots of really good comedy stuff from Joey. AND Jade Chung has added so much to her matches this weekend (she's great at keeping the potentially exhausted crowds into the show)!
Match Nine
Super Dragon beat TARO
NOTES: Super Dragon is the KING of ing with the crowd's expectations -- in such an amazing way! The crowd wanted to see TARO die (and while he did) but Super Dragon refused to let anyone feel good about it.
He teased as much violence as he dished out -- and refused to be celebrated for it. He's a dick heel in every sense of the word.
After the match Dragon might have gotten into with a fan -- but I couldn't see from where I was sitting.
Match Ten
Bryan Danielson and CIMA. AND CIMA beat Bryan Danielson
NOTES: two referees made two different three counts. Unbelievably well-executed angle that I can't begin to do justice to on my Blackberry.
Excalibur declares it a draw. CIMA announces Dragon Gate in Los Angeles in 2008 and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in Tokyo, Japan in 2009!
Crowd was evenly split between Danielson and CIMA. Technical clinic highlighted by an array of just brutal, brutal submissions. Two of the best wrestlers in the world (if not the two best) giving it their all -- you really can't hope for anything more. A billion, trillion stars.
Amazing weekend of wrestling (over 8 and 1/2 hours of wrestling in two days)! I think this will my first PWG DVD purchase ever.
I'm thinking ten years ago we would have murdered people to have this caliber of wrestling in southern California. We're unbelievably lucky to have such an amazing promotion in the region (forgot the region, PWG is pretty much my only hope for wrestling)!
