I'm just catching up on some ROH (watched Undeniable earlier this week though) and i'm currently watching Honor Nation as he defend the belt against Kevin Steen.
I've never been a fan of 'Shima. He has had some good matches with Danielson, but in my opinion that's because Danielson can have good matches with anybody.
Just watching Steen [vs] 'Shima it's awful watching and it's not Steen's fault, not one bit.
For 50% of the match Steen has been working 'Shima's knees. Big onslaught early on, Morishima recovers but then Steen goes back to it later in the match. When i say he works it, he really works it. Credit to Morishima, at the time he sells it well, not being able to stand etc.
However his memory must be shit. He gets up and the first three moves he goes for are...
- A big boot. (C'mon he couldn't stand a second ago) - A running lariat (Running easily) - Climbed to the top turnbuckle (You're joking right?)
Sure he is young and stuff, but c'mon, it's just common sense. Especially when the main point of the match is Steen working on his legs.
Anyone else see this and be disgusted? Anyone else happy to see him gone from the main events?

Morishima is one of the best wrestlers ROH has ever had. He played a great monster heel, and other than ALBRIGHT, Danielson (after rewatching a lot of his crapfrom 07, I find him highly enjoyable) and Davey Richards, he's the most watchable guy they have. And to say his matches with Danielson were his only good ones is intellectually- disabled. He's had great matches with Nigel, ALBRIGHT, KENTA (if you think KENTA carried him, you have no reason to ever comment on wrestling again), Marufuji, and Claudio. And if you ask most people, Claudio didn't carry him in that match. And for the record, Morishima > Steen by miles and miles. Morishima was booked as an unstoppable champion, and last time I checked, him making a huge comeback like that is part of showing how unstoppable he is. I'd hate to see your opinion on a Kobashi match, because you'll see a ton of ignored body work later in the match when it just becomes bomb throwing. In closing, you're complaining about the same crapI've seen everywhere else. Morishima didn't sell leg work. Who the cares? He's better than almost the entire ROH roster on his own.

I'm going to have to side with Ricky here.
ROH needed a great monster heel and Morishima did whatever he could to supply that to them. Sure, he's still not perfect in the ring, but he's still young. In upcoming years, I think that we could be seeing Mori develop into someone who could potentially be just as good as Kobashi was.

Only thing I disliked about him was that he looked like a topless version of a fat hideous asian chick from highschool. i never EVER wanted to see her without a shirt on, and watching him brought that fear to life.
other than that no beef. he did his part and ROH have moved on.

I didn't really like him at first, but his title run seemed to get better as it went on. He had some great matches with SHINGO, Nigel, KENTA, Claudio, Albright, Danielson, and I even liked his match with Steen. I think he had a good run as champion.

I was never a fan of Morishima, even way before he went to ROH. He had some good matches in NOAH, but most of those were tag matches.

I wasn't a big fan of Morishima at all, I just found him extremely over hyped and boring. Sure he had some good matches against Shingo, Albright, CC, Nigel and Dragon, but it was always the other person who got me into the match.

Morishima had to be carried by better opponents in most of his matches. He was a big Japanese monster and ROH marked out for having a Japanese champion that defended the belt in Japan, when their was more deserving wrestling from within ROH.
One thing that I didnt get was why did ROH waste him in tag team matches, it was like they were trying to hide his imperfections in the ring and he would have most definitly been exposed in more singles matches.

Hi Sean! Your studidity knows no bounds because Morishima while in ROH wrestled in count them, 6 tag matches compared to 21 singles matches.

Morishima was a promising young talent from NOAH and he really came into his own in ROH. I believe that they gave him the belt to show that he could have a mosnter heel push that would suceed. The tradition goes that NOAH in a way uses ROH as a training ground of sorts to test certain talents.

Wow one little spelling mistake and you losers are all over it. I guess you've found the first time I was ever wrong. Kudos to you losers. Now I guess you can all go back to jerking off to magazine photos.

Back on ing topic... Does that imply that Nigel is a good champ? 'Cause if so...I dunno, man. I gotta say he belongs at mid-card status himself. Worst main event ever last night. Strong vs. Mcguiness. Boring. Now, when I saw Morishima defend against Shingo, I was very entertained. Then again, the card was veryyyy sloppily put together at last night's show.

LOL at capping albright's name and saying he is one of the most watchable. i'd put 90% of the roster ahead of albright in terms of watchability.
