WORLD CHAMPION LOW-KI ATTACKED!
As the JAPW Ring Crew and Staff were packing up after RECLAIMING HUDSON in Jersey City, a panicked yell came from the locker room. JAPW Heavyweight Champion Low-Ki was found prone on the floor with his head and neck stuffed into an open locker, the victim of a brutal attack by an unseen attacker. As of this moment, his status is unknown in terms of his injuries and if he will be ready to compete at Wild Card.
When you are the world champion, there are many people that are looking to take you out, but most of them would rather do it in the ring and claim the Title for their own. Whomever did this, it wasn't about the belt-it was personal.
The Problem is, there is a long list of folks gunning for Low-Ki these days, and just about anyone is a suspect.
JAPW Promoter Frank Iadevaia has launched a full investigation into this matter-If anyone saw anything or has any information on this attack, please contact tip@japw.net with whatever info you may have on this incident.
LAX To defend the Tag-Team Titles against the Motor City Machine Guns
Homicide has challenged for the JAPW Tag Team titles at 2 of the previous Wild Card events, and has a split record of 1 and 1 in those attempts. At the First Wild Card, he and BBoy became the JAPW Tag Team Champions; at last years Wild card, they were defeated by the then champions Azriael and Jay Lethal. The difference between then and now is that Homicide is not challenging for the Tag Titles, he and his partner in the LAX, Hernandez, are the champions and now have to face the unpredictability that Wild Card brings.
This year, instead of having a JAPW team as a surprise opponent the night of the show, JAPW has decided to reach out to some of the greatest tag teams in wrestling that have not graced a JAPW within the last year, and the first team to respond to this chance at the JAPW Titles are TNA Superstars, the Motor City Machine Guns-Alex Shelly and Chris Sabin!
Shelly and Sabin have never teamed within a JAPW ring and with their lightning quick moves and synchronized attacks are the perfect counter to LAX, provided they strike before Homicide and Hernandez can react. If not, the MCMG's will fall, just like every other team in JAPW, to the reigning champions, the LAX.
Teddy Hart vs. Kenny Omega vs Xavier
When Teddy Hart got the win in Jersey City last month, the JAPW Championship Committee assumed that Hart would use the #1 contenders status he won in the hard-fought match vs. Homicide and Eddie Kingston to get a shot at Low-Ki's Heavyweight Title, but the unpredictable Hart had other ideas and upon his return to the locker room, he immediately petitioned for a shot at the Tag Team Titles.
Given champion Low-Ki's unknown status at this time, the committee agreed to grant Hart his shot at the Tag Team Titles however not on February 16th at "Wild Card" but on March 8th at "Caged Fury." When asked who his partner will be, Hart's only reply was "You'll see at Wild Card."
the Blood Feud between Teddy Hart and Homicide will continue on March 8th, and on the LAX side of things, Homicide has Hernandez as his nuclear weapon at his side...will Teddy's "Mystery" Partner be enough to counter Hernandez, or has Hart bitten off more than he can chew?
But in the meantime, This situation left Teddy without a scheduled opponent, but since this is "Wild Card," JAPW Management granted 2 wrestlers a unique opportunity to wrestle one of wrestling's most controversial stars, and the 2 Wrestlers to answer the call were Xavier and Kenny Omega.
Kenny Omega, while on the losing end of his match against Jay Lethal, certainly showed he has what it takes to contend for any belt in JAPW, and this match can catapult him to stardom.
After his return at Seasons Beatings and subsequent win at Reclaiming Hudson, Xavier has come back into JAPW more intense and powerful than ever before.
Anyway you slice it, with 3 of the hottest, most talented wrestlers in JAPW in the same match, the outcome can be nothing less than explosive.
Archadia vs. Black Machismo for the NJ State Title.
Since winning the NJ State title in a controversial fashion at the 10th Anniversary show, Archadia's true colors as a cocky and arrogant competitor have come to the surface. He is not above cheating to keep his belt, and since he has enlisted the manager of champions Jonny D and added Alexa and Hyde as his backup at ringside, it seems that the odds are stacked against whomever Archadia is going to face.
But for the first time since winning the title, Archadia will have to face the madness that is Black Machismo at Wild Card, and Jay Lethal always finds a way to win no matter how hard the odds are against him. The ones question is, what will be the Wild Card twist that effects this matchup? Will it even the odds or will they make them impossible to beat?
Matchup for the #1 Contendership to the NJ State Title.
Bandito, jr., vs. Grim Reefer
This match features 2 of the most talented wrestlers on the JAPW roster vying for a shot at the JAPW NJ State title. Since the last time these 2 have battled, Bandito, jr., continued to impress fans as he climbs the ladder in JAPW, and his surprising win last month over the veteran Azriael earned him into this match. the Grim Reefer and Archadia still have unfinished business after Archadia's less than sportsmanlike win over Reefer in Jersey City, a win here will keep him in the running for the belt that he says he never lost.
Demanto vs. Storm 3 - WILD CARD RULES!!!!
With one win a piece, Danny Demanto and Devon Storm are currently tied in their win/losses against each other and JAPW official were so impressed with their efforts in the previous 2 matches that they have decided to set up one final match to settle the score, but since this is Wild Card, there will of course be a twist. At the door that night a special ballot with a choice of specialty matches will be given out and collected before the show begins, and fans will select what kind of match Demanto and Storm will face each other in at Wild Card. Updates on the choice of matches will be updated on www.japw.net.
Heavy Hitters continue their path of destruction in JAPW.
The team of Monsta Mack and Havok will be in action at Wild Card, and they plan on continuing to destroy tag teams in JAPW until they get their shot against the LAX. The question is, what Team or Teams will they face at Wild Card??? There are plenty of vanquished opponents that may be looking for revenge against the Heavy Hitters, and just who and how many opponents show up will be revealed at Wild Card 4.
More Matches will be announced as we approach this unpredictable event, and keep in mind, not all competitors that night will be announced prior to the show and the surprises and twists that happen at this show will have lasting effects on JAPW for a long time to come.
Tickets are on sale now at www.japw.net
I'm glad a company finally booked LAX vs Motor City Machine Guns in a match that isn't three minutes. I'm really looking forward to this match and the Wildcard event in general.
