According to Patti on the Mid South boards, Deep South is no longer affiliated with IWA. They will be going through a name change and may not may not continue to run shows. This is the same promotion Mike Burns from Smart Mark was booing. Its a shame. I own a few of their dvds and they were damn decent.

I remember watching Low Ki/Brain Damage and there were about 20 people in the crowd. That answers why the company is no more.

Yeah the crowds were dead for most of the shows, with the exception of The carnage cup and stuff. I liked the product to an extent. But yeah It's hard to keep a company going when your only doing a few shows per year.

from all that sounds, they won't be running any more. Kevin Brennan, the owner of IWA Deep South, posted a really bitter rant on the IWA Mid South board, how booking wrestling sucks and there's no money to be made any more unless it's MMA. It's a shame that Deep South won't be running any more, because they presented a product I really dug and could get into, especially once Mike Burns started helping out with the booking.
The Carnage Cup 07 was a fitting ending to Deep South, however, considering the KOTDM/Carnage Cup 05 was the first Deep South show (and they got to try it twice after the first one got shut down!)

yeahhh.. IWA Deep South didn't really start running until Dec. 05, and Punk was already signed to WWE by then.

I think it's always sad when an indy fed closes its doors, but I think the owner could've gone out with a little more dignity. For anyone wondering, "bitter" doesn't really do justice to the type of message he posted. He was basically saying " you guys for not coming to ours shows, you MMA loving sons of bitches". I know it can be frustrating, even infuriating, to see your fed close shop. But trying to drag people down and claim that wrestling is dieing because of MMA just makes you look like a bitter ass.
