so, yeah, wwe has lost its appeal to me, and i'm looking for a worthy alternative. all i want is good WRESTLING, no silly gimmicks/angles - hornswoggle, katy vick etc. what i'd really like is some quality pure-wrestling dvds. through no fault of my own, all i've really seen is bits of ring of honor, and, i liked what i saw. so, you guys being the helpful bunch that you are  , could you give me a list of good quality wrestling dvds - not just roh. oh, also, could you guys possibly give me a list of reputable sites, that ship to the uk, as sourcing non-wwe dvds here, besides ebay, isn't so easy. thanks for any help you guys can give |

Chikara and New Japan are my two favorite non WWE and in my opinion the best by far.
But expect tons of ROH ROH ROH ROH ROH ROH ROH ROH

Im a big fan of CHIKARA, NJPW, NWA, ROH, and LWA (Local Promotion). But most big indy leagues have great talent. My favorite indy stars are Mike Quackenbush and Delirious. Just look for a few indy feds on youtube and find your fave.

Obviously ROH is a brilliant promotion. On their site aswell they ship to the UK at a good price and it comes very fast considering it's from the States. Week and a half max. So you may want to look on their site for DVDs as they sell stuff other than ROH.

If you want the best quality pure-wrestling Indy show you can get, ROH is definitely for you. I find there DVD's to usually be worth the price tag, and they run sales all the time. If you need some specific titles recommended, shoot me a PM.
I'd say PWG is also a great fed. I haven't a clue on their international shipping policy, but they sell there DVD's for real cheap. You can usually buy 3 for $35 or 4 for $40, depending on the deals they run. Highspots sometimes has them for even cheaper.
CHIKARA is a really fun promotion as well that has a diverse roster. I dislike how there DVD's are 20 bucks solid, since Smart Mark Video rarely runs any sales (and if they do, its almost always 25% if you spend $75 or more). But I'd get the Best of 2007 CHIKARA DVD. It's 3 discs of great matches for only 20 bucks. You can't go wrong.

Besides ROH, I would HIGHLY suggest CHIKARA. Loads of fun and some just great wrestling.

right, FOR NOW, i'm going with ring of honor pay-per-views, but, i will take a look into CHIKARA later on. so, guys, could you possibly recommend the best roh dvds, on their site. oh, i'm also interested in the best of cm punk, and samoa joe - any more good best-of's? cheers guys |

My favourites are ROH and PWG. PWG ship to the UK, quite a few people complain about their shipping but I've never had any problems.

early 70s/late 80s Euro (Johnny Saint mark right here!), 50s/60s "golden era" stuff (thank you Sam Muchnick), or 80s TBS NWA stuff - always fun to watch.

Chikara is my favorite promotion. Be careful....its not for everybody. They have some really goofy characters. Straight Edge Chipmunk, Grump Curmodgeon, Snobby Swiss Aristocrat, Road Side Traffic Control Clown, Ants, etc. But the action is top notch. Work rate is great and the crowds love it.
