I’d like to first thank the CHIKARA representatives for allowing me the forum to address the failed BTS reunion with the fans.
Mike approached me about whether I would be interested in reuniting the BTS for the King of Trios 2008 tournament. I was eager at the prospect of Quackenbush, Don Montoya, and I all getting together as a team again after so many years. Because Quack had very little contact with Montoya outside of wrestling, I took it upon myself to be the liaison between the two in order to ensure that the reunion would take place. At that time, it was agreed by each of us that we would reunite for at least one weekend.
During the last month or two, the communication seemed to distance between me and Montoya, as the date approached which ultimately raised concern. I assured Mike that Montoya would be available for the date and that he was just as eager as I was for the reunion. At the points that I did speak to Montoya about the subject, he seemed interested and very much looking forward to the event. Somewhere between that time and correspondence over final measurements for the team uniforms only a handful of weeks ago, Montoya decided that he did not want to be a part of the reunion. I immediately forwarded the message to Quack and hoped that he could talk to Montoya about the situation. There were a number of attempts made by the both of us over the course of a few days with Montoya not responding to either of us and it was apparent that there would be no reunion.
I was surprised to recently hear from Quack that there was interest beyond us to see a reunion. I’m very disappointed at how the whole situation has played out and feel even more terrible considering there were fans that were possibly hoping for such a reunion as well. I look at the BTS days very fondly and the friendships formed between the 3 of us during that time were unforgettable. Unfortunately, my joined attempt with Quack was not successful and I apologize for that, despite it being beyond my control. It is no secret that personal priorities have taken precedence over wrestling in the last several years and that I now perform sporadically. I was very much hoping that one of the few chances would be during a memorable BTS reunion. Again, I apologize to those BTS fans that were very much hoping to see a reunion as much as Quack and I would have liked to have seen as well.
I wish the best of luck to all of the competitors and I have been honored to be a part of CHIKARA over these years performing in front of fans worthy of as much respect.

This was an email sent by Reckless Youth to Chikara concerning the rumors of a BTS Reunion. And explains why Quack's team was the last to be announced for KOT.
