3.22.08 - UNFINISHED BUSINESS 2008 National Guard Armory in Crystal River, FL
FIP World Heavyweight Title Match FIP World Heavyweight Champion Roderick Strong defeated Austin Aries via countout to retail the championship after Nigel McGuinness attacked Aires outside the ring.
ROH World Title Match Nigel McGuinness pinned Larry Sweeney to retain the championship.
Heartbreak Enterprises of Damien Wayne & Rex Sterling w/ Sean & Phil Davis defeated Jigsaw & Seth Delay. Before the match Sean Davis announced that since they could no longer wrestle in FIP, due to losing their match against Shawn Murphy of Black Market at last month’s “FIP Redefined”, that he acquired a managerial license and Phil had acquired a bodyguard license and that they were starting the new group in FIP “Heartbreak Enterprises”.
Delirious & the Briscoe Bros. defeated The YRR of FIP Florida Heritage Champion Sal Rinauro, FIP Tag Team Champion Kenny King & Chasyn Rance. The match originally started as a tag team match between the Briscoe Bros. against Rinauro & King, but was stopped due to interference from Rance. The match restarted as a six man tag team match once Delirious came to the Briscoe’s aid.
Tyler Black w/ Lacey & Rain of the Age of the Fall pinned FIP Tag Team Champion Jason Blade w/ The YRR
Chris Jones pinned Ernie Osiris. After the match both men were attacked and laid out by DCFC. FIP Host Jonathan Gold informed DCFC that Black Market had demanded, and were granted, a match against them on the 4/26 FIP event "Dangerous Intentions". Chavis asked how Gold had gotten this info and Gold informed him that he was friends with Black Market, which resulted in DCFC attacking Gold and laying him out. FIP & ROH commentator Lenny Leonard had to take over Gold's duties for the remainder of the night.
Kory Chavis & Jon Davis destroyed Shayne Swift & Myles Long. Chavis & Davis, collectively known as The Dark City Fight Club (DCFC) were revealed as the masked men who took out Black Market.
Erick Stevens pinned Shane Hagadorn. After the match Stevens guaranteed that he would regain the FIP World Heavyweight Championship but was laid out with a belt shot by FIP World Heavyweight Champion Roderick Strong
I guess I can't really say if it's a dvd purchase or not because I work for FIP, but it was definitely a solid show. The last show is a definite pick up, though.

I always wondered if they've allowed Sweeney to be competitive in FIP, or does he come off as a manager with limited wrestling prowess?

I always wondered if they've allowed Sweeney to be competitive in FIP, or does he come off as a manager with limited wrestling prowess? He wrestles just like Larry Sweeney usually. He was wrestling in FIP before he went over to Ring of Honor, so most of the fans there only really know him as the wrestler, and not the manager.

Good to know, Sweeney is a great guy to watch, regardless of his in ring stance else-where.
