Say I think reserving video games is no fun.
Say I got my Wii for my birthday, so I missed out on the hardcore fan activity of camping outside of a store to be first in line for one.
Say I want to earn my wings by camping outside of Best Buy for Super Smash Bros. Brawl to be first in line for it.
Say I'm 17 and live in New York.
Would I have trouble with mall security in this situation? Would they tell me and my friends to leave? I mean, people obviously do this for game systems, but I doubt anyone usually does it to get a game. I just think it'd be exciting, and a good way to waste a Saturday night.
Don't judge me.

People were camped out all day for Halo 3, so its not a completely unusual thing, but you might face some problems from mall security. Has the store you're getting it at confirmed a midnight release yet?

I don't think so. I was more thinking just waiting like... until morning.

Yeah you might face some problems, but if you get the OK from who ever you would need to ask then go for it bud. I honestly look forward to camping out for new systems or games, its always fun for me.

I've got the OK, but there might be some problems if everyone has to leave on short notice. I'll probably still go for it, but if anyone can say for 100% sure whether or not we'd get in trouble or be told to leave, lemme know.

You won't need to camp out for this game. Even if that particular Bes Buy sells out, I'm sure there will be at least one store in your area that won't sell out. And besides, waiting outside all night for a video game/console/etc. is not as great as everyone makes it out to be. In all reality, it sucks. Especially in this cold ass weather everyone seems to be having recently.

I know, it's probably very unnecessary, but I want to camp out for something, at least once. While the idea of it still seems interesting. Besides, I'll be among the first people in America to play Brawl, in English!

You'll possibly have issues with Mall Security if the store you'd be camping for doesn't have a midnight release or something.

It is ridiculously nerdy but beyond that I don't see the problem.

If it's a store inside the mall, then it depends on the mall. It also depends on if the store is having a midnight release. If they are, you'll probably be ok staying all night. If not, they will kick you out at 9 or whenever the mall closes.

Well when one of the GTA games came out about 2-3 years ago (on a friday at midnight) this guy I new took the Friday off to cue for it, he then got it at about 12:30 and went home etc, he took the next week off school as a holiday (a official holiday) to play it.

That's the way to do it . I'm probably nver gonna do anything like camping outside a store again as i can just order online easily and get it the same day as it is released. I don't see the point anymore but it is really good fun, especially if you have a group, not so much on you're own.

The store has an entrance in the mall, but we'd be waiting outside of the outside entrance.

Yeah, but unless the store is doing a midnight launch, it's still loitering which MS can kick you out for it they want.

I pre-order all my games. Screw waiting, i want to be able to sit down and play my new game the day it comes out. Hence the reason why i pre-order it

Just wait and camp out for the ps4 or Xbox460 or why didnt you camp out for the wii/ps3/xbox360? I know, it's probably very unnecessary, but I want to camp out for something, at least once. While the idea of it still seems interesting. Besides, I'll be among the first people in America to play Brawl, in English!

People around here do it all the time for the new Madden games, Halo, etc.
I think you'd be fine, but a mall might be different. Perhaps try Circuit City, Best Buy, Walmart, etc.
