Why is it that forums ban each others names? I know it happens here a lot with 90% of similar forums, but i honestly thought it was just WF admin being a bit moronic. I recently realised i was wrong though, as i visited two other forums (one was wrasslin, one was something else i cant think of. I think it had something to do with replica belt collectors though. Im really not sure) but anyway, on both occasions i seen members warning other members not to post links to different forums. Why is that? I mean.. If you wana go looking for a forum about something, Google will usually pull up an answer for you. Its not like this is a physical place and they dont want us to go somewhere else. I understand WF and RSC are connected, too, and having other forums with competing retail stores is a bad idea, but some i dont get. Why ban the name fig anom ics? they dont have a retail store (to the best of my knowledge) and if they ever post any new pictures, they surface here almost immediately anyway. Surely both sites would be better off working with each other and not against? Can someone give me a hand trying to work out why forums do this? It just confuses me. *edit* By the way, the title of this post is to entice admin or mods in. So i can get a proper answer. I dont wana PM admin, cos i reckon they're busy enough with constant PM's saying "delet dis basturdz!!" so i just made a thread.

Money, Money, Yeah, Yeah. It's all down to money for advertising different sites, i presume.

Money, Money, Yeah, Yeah. It's all down to money for advertising different sites, i presume. I dont think money is involved at all. As i said, I understand if another site has a retail store, as that could potentially hurt RSC, but no money is made just from WF. Its just a pro-board like any other really.

RSC has an investment in the WFigs site, boards, and brand name.
You wouldn't see Coke allow Pepsi advertising on their website. It's as simple as that.

But i presume WF make money from RSC for advertising their site. WF is supposed to be the place to go to get pics of the latest figs and RSC is supposed to be the next place to go to pre-order them so they work as a tandem to provide this quicker than anywhere else, so when someone posts pics from a different site, they endeavor together to cover them up because WF&RSC have to be the first port of calls for new figs, for the world. It is what they attempt to provide for everyone, hence the point of their site, forum and store.

I think it just boils down to the fact that WF doesn't allow in-post advertising of any kind. Generally boards that get banned are ones that either get advertised in-post a lot, or get advertised by people acting as though they're "attacking" this board.

Still seems a little confusing though. Vettel makes most sense to me to be honest. But im just not sure if he's actually correct in what he is saying.

I never knew there was any money exchanged between the two. I thought it was just cos the guys knew each other outside of the forum or something
