This is why I have yet to try a cigarette. I do drink( and do so moderately) but I'm too nervous that I'll get hooked on cigs and blow all my money on them..

first 3 days is supposedly the worse, gradually gets better from there. exercise to use up the energy and make you tired enough to sleep, and eat well.

Any time you want to smoke, just exersize. That makes you feel good and it usually takes the craving away. It does for me anyway. There is a really good herbal sleep aid that will help with the insomnia from not smoking. I can't remember what it's called off hand, it has a green label if that helps any. I'll check in a little bit and update my post.

Chantix
It is the answer.....
I smoked a pack a day for 13 years and that stuff helped me more than any patch, gum, cough drop, or anything else.
I went from 20 to 30 cigarettes a day to 2 or 3 cigarettes a month.
It is expensive....but it works!!!!

Has anyone tried those little magnet things you put on your left ear that's supposed to make you stop smoking? I've heard good things about it, but it's hard to sift throught the advertising BS.

I haven't touched anything in about a month. To quit I just went cold turkey, and left it in God's hands.
If you can't sleep, listen to Explosions in the Sky
Or download the album "A Natural Disaster" by Anathema

That's why I don't want to smoke cigs no matter what, I don't want to get addicted to them. Cigars are good though, maybe you could use those as a substitute.

I know (vaguely), how you feel. I had a masturbation addiction for ages that was destroying my ability to do anything, and i managed to stave off for a week, and it felt great, then i gave into temptation yesterday and felt awful. Luckily, I feel great now. The trick is to tempt yourself with something, then remove it. That way, you will be as excited as you would be if you actually did it, but not have the bad effects.
