Officials say a gunman burst into at a Wendy's restaurant near West Palm Beach, killed one person and shot several others, before turning the gun on himself.
Palm Beach County sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera says three people are in critical condition. She says two other people have minor injuries, but it was unclear if they were shot.
Several people were carried away on stretchers to ambulances.
Witnesses reportedly heard 15 to 20 shots during the incident, TCPalm.com reported.
A man was seen walking around the scene pointing at a rip in his jeans and the bottom of a work boot, where a bullet reportedly hit him, the Palm Beach Post reported.
The shooting happened around lunch time.
In May of 2000 four employees were shot dead and three others were hurt at a robbery inside a Wendy's in Queens, N.Y.
Known as the Wendy's Massacre of 2000, the shootings were done by 36-year-old ex-employee John Taylor, who was sentenced to death and accomplice Craig Godineaux, who was sentenced to life in prison.
