He's got the right idea. As does Double J. The fact that you're even on the computer asking us this is a pretty good sign that ADD may have a little something to do with this. If you know that something is causing you to not do well in school, don't do it, or don't do it until you're done with your work.

Dude, you know what the problem is, now you just need to work on them. By the way, I am nowhere near a straight-A student myself, and I'm having to take two online courses this semester just so I can graduate on time, so I've made a few -ups myself.

A: Classes are hard - Man, there's just no easy way out of this, unless you're taking honors classes, get switched into regular, but I dunno. Usually teachers are pretty cool with letting you stay after school to get some extra studying in, provided you are legitimately busting your ass during class.

The first thing you should focus on is homework, because that is the big thing that'll kill your grade if you come home and bullshit, even if you're doing fine in classwork assignments and tests. They are your academic courses, so you're gonna need to get them done. That's pretty much your only option.

B: Addicted to TV, Video Games, etc. - I'm actually pretty surprised your dad hasn't taken these away as punishment, seeing as they seem like the main focus of your distractions. It's gonna suck, but you need to try to eliminate these if you are gonna try to pass. At the very least, have some books out and do a couple math problems in between commercials or something.

C: ADD - I don't know what to do with this one. I know it can be hard to concentrate if you aren't motivated at all, especially with school. You just need to discipline yourself here. I know a bunch of people with ADD (and probably some that I don't even know have it), that can complete their schoolwork with no problem, so you just have to work at it and not use it as an excuse.

It'll be really hard at first, and you won't enjoy it, but you need to get your grades up before it's too late. I really slacked off my first three years in high school and I'm now having to bust my ass while all my friends are chilling their senior year and I can tell you it's not as much fun. When I was in High School, I was never promised anything for getting good grades....I was promised I would LOSE what I already had if I DIDN'T get good grades.

You shouldn't be motivated by gifts to get good grades.....you should be motivated by the fact that at 16 not even being able to get D's to pass anything that you are NEVER going to get into a good college and you are going to be poor and live a horrible life because you will never get a decent job other than McDonalds fry-boy.

If I got an F, my parents would have ripped off my balls...and I got F's and I was thusly punished, but I was a Sophmore, then went on and graduated college, grad school etc without ever seeing a Summerslam or a C or a kick in the face.

You need to grow up, give up the nerd games, and focus on school or get ready to work at Wal Mart until you are 55 and hit 1000$ on a scratch ticket and set up for fun and adventure and eventually wind up at Taco Bell as Night manager supporting 4 kids, and 3 ex wifes, just because you didnt wanna give up Grand Theft Auto and D&D.

It sounds to me like you already know what your problem is. Just fix it. Take the TV and put it in the closet. Take the video game system and do the same. Break the computer down and store it until you get your grades up.

Your problem is self-discipline. I know because I have to deal with the same thing. The sooner you learn how to be disciplined, the better off you're going to be and the more sucess you'll end up having in life.

Also, I've found most people who say they have ADD (and I'm one of them) have the same problem with self-discipline. There is no key. There is no secret. You just have to make yourself do it.

What happened to the days of just getting a pat on the back for doing well in school?

How do you get a B in P.E and then F in History and English. I dont think its addiction, Its more of you not giving a damn
