I was just wondering,
I know most people here are Americans, but what is the average cost of a house where you live?
I know there are a lot of younger people on the site who won't know/don't care, but to anyone that would have a decent idea (it'd also be handy if you included where you lived, and if possible, your full name, address and bank details).
Where i am (Louth, Ireland) houses are pretty expensive, or so i'm told. A guy i know recently purchased a three bedroom house (its a nice house and a quiet area) and i believe it cost around the €325,000 (Approx $475,000) area.
So yeah.. what does the average cost run where you are?

My house was $65,500 and it is in a small town but it is large (4 bedrooms, 2 bath, finished basement). It would now go for around $80,000 due to cost of living, etc.

New Jersey (USA) is too damn expensive. A 3 bedroom house usually goes for $299,000-$350,000 depending on what part of the state you live in.

i live in akron ohio and the houses go from $25,000 (if you don't mind the strong possibility of being robbed or murdered all the time & you have no problem sleeping to the sounds of gun shots & sirens) to $4,500,000 for the REALLY nice areas. my house was $120,000 and we live in a pretty nice area. it's not swanky, but you can take the trash out without being killed.

Around here, house prices are horrible. The lowest price I have seen for a 3 bedroom house around here is at least $450k, even if its and older house. If you want one in newer condition, you need to pay nearly $800k - $1 million

Well the housing market around here has boomed big time. There is a bit of a crisis/shortage in the places because in Australia, it is 2.5 people per square km but most live on the coasts and in the captial cities. In the capital cities, the average is probably around $500,000. Some are as low as 300 or 400 but there are ones higher than 500 and im not talking about water front properties.

I'm in the Silicon Valley, or San Jose, California. Typical houses go from $400,000-$1,000,000.
I lived in Los Angeles the past few years, where it's pretty much impossible to get a house for less than $500,000, and even that is a shack. Most houses there are around $750,000. It all depends what neighborhood and what type of house though.
