Long story short a seller sold me a laptop for about 400 bucks and I never got it. She seemed like a nice person we had a refund set for monday the 28th and she told me to wait till friday, then we agreed for wednesday (today) I messaged her sicne yesterday and nothing no response we had it set that she would email me tuesday lettingme know what she found out about the laptop. Tracking number? she says her husband "lost it" no wednesday coes the day of the refund, I made the dispute on paypal today in the morning she as she never answered any emails and I would leave the dispute until she gave me an answer, she finally responds with "Ok heres the deal you reported me so you want to play by the rules well so do I it can take up to 4-6 weeks for delivery well I will respond back to you when it has been 4-6 weeks." Sounds like BS and antoher excuse so she doesnt have to give me an answer...and what carrier takes over a month to deliver?!?!?! she lives in texas and sent out the 20th...which was my birthday You guys think paypal does justice? should I escalate to a claim NOW or wait? she basically told me she screwed me over theres no point in waiting...does paypal ask for emails? I have proof all emaisl she sent me how does paypal go about getting a winner of the case? I need adivce please im so depressed as this is my only time I got scammed and well it wa son my 21st birthday my 21st birthday present...mon ebay it says "covered up to $200" shes also verified paypal. thanks for any help

Sorry to hear that. Paypal usually never gives you your money back because they take it from there account. So if there account is empty then your pockets are also. It sucks I know. I've been scammed on here before. Best of luck to you.

There will never be a secure way to deal on eBay.
I just sold about 20+ items, and made about a grand. But it's about 2 months later, and I still don't have payments from a couple losers.

If they cannot recover from the person's account, I fear you are screwed. I know paypal will make several attempts at it. So the next time they sell and receive funds, paypal will probably forward those to you.

I've been scammed on here before. Best of luck to you. PayPal seems to like to pick and choose who they want to try to help. I've been scammed a few times over the years, and have received no help from them at all. But sometime last year, I sold something on PayPal and the person claimed they never got it (which was total bullshit) and despite me having proof that I sent it AND having no money in my PayPal account, they took the money out anyway which left me with a negative balance.

The auction says im covered up to 200 dollars from paypal, I asked and they said thats what I would definatley recieve if I win the case. The other money im not sure. To the guy that got money taken out even after he had a zero balance, are you verified? I think this would make some difference since the verified paypal members have their bank account tied to paypal.

PayPal is one of the most shady companies out there. I lost over $700 because of them three years ago.
I sold an X-Box 360 on eBay and received payment confirmation from a certified PayPal address. I looked over the email and everything, and just because I didn't trust my own judgment, all emails were turned over to the police and viewed by fraud experts. ALL accounts claim it was an official email from PayPal, however, I was never given any money, I sent out the X-Box to some scam artist, and PayPal completely washed their hands of the situation.
I reported PayPal to the Better Business Bureau and spoke with several representatives, who said they had over 500 outstanding cases with PayPal.
To this day, I refuse to purchase anything that is to be paid with PayPal, nor do I use eBay unless it's a very small purchase from a very high end seller.
Good luck.

I've been scammed on ebay before. Luckily it was only for $10. Other than that the other times I've used ebay and paypal I had no problem. But I will say Paypal's site isn't that secure. I have had my account hacked a few times. So I never keep an y credit information on there.

That's why you should always deal with sellers that have positive feedback.
