OK OK, Step Right Up, Hit The Monkey, Win A Prize Anyway, I'm posting this in the lounge as its not about RAW or WWE necessarily, and about lighting displays. So anyway: I wana make a RAW Real Scale TitanTron for my Wrassling figures in the future (Jakks have one planned for release in May. If that one sucks, and to be honest: its bound to suck in one way or another, I'm gonna make my own). So i have to sort out a few things and do this and that etc. etc. I've drawn pictures, plans, etc. etc. for it and I have a very vague idea of how tall it will be, how wide etc. and i have a rough idea of its materials etc. but one thing i really haven't properly looked at yet, is lighting. See, for such a small stage (albeit, it will be big in comparison to figures, but small in comparison to people) i'm thinking i might have a hard time getting my hands on some decent, strong, flashy/pulsating/etc. lights. So thats were you internet people come in Im not too knowledgeable about this kinda thing, so im gonna just stop writing now, and hope that you guys can link me to ebay, google searches, give me names etc. of any kinds of lights that might be able to work out properly. Before its suggested: Christmas lights aren't what im going for. I dont want six foot of wire for a few lights Help is appreciated For those unaware, this is what im trying to make for figures:

I'm not sure about the scale, but Maplin do ultra-small spotlight led lights, if they are any help . They look like stage lights too. Hope this helps dude. Can't wait to see you're stage when its finished .

well besides Xmas lights, the best i can tell you, isnt even lights.
id say use something like colored pipe cleaners. that, or colored slides. like confettie type material. shiney, and colored. so when you have it in place, shine it with a flashlight or something (which wouldnt be dumb cuz the arenas filled with spotlights,) the color of the slide will light up.
thats really all i can think of.

OK, firstly, some of the ideas are pretty cool. However, I want a decent fully functioning RAW titantron. I don't mind spending a few $/£/€ on it, because its something I've always wanted. Its going to be built around a PC monitor that will be wired to my PC and will play titantron movies. Im also gonna buy one of these things to put up over the ring: And see how that works out. However, I want to be able to have lights that will change colour on my tron, and change, not randomly, or to music, but as i want them to. In other words i want my tron to be able to switch about like it does for these intros (Triple H VS Kane) and me be in full control of it. I know it sounds near-impossible, but there must be some weird light gadgets out there that can do that kinda stuff

Just thinking about it:
Are there any lights that even have presets you can make?
So like, i could have one preset be red and orange and another be blue and another be green and yellow etc. so i could write them down and memorize them?

Go to radio shack. Get colored leds, circuit, battery. Google simple led circuit.

I don't really know on those LED signs you can change the colour, text and crap so I would look into that if I were you.

the BRIGHT ideas displayed here PUNjabi prison match! ___________________________________________________________________ OK, I've looked a little here, looked a little there, here, there, here, there, looked a little everywhere. And i've found out what i need to do. I need to learn how to make a dot-matrix display. Doing such a thing will leave me with a board (however big i want it) that i can fill with LED lights and programme to display what i want. So i can make it switch from one colour to another, provided i get my hands on the right LED's that i will need (colour-switching ones, obviously). However, in every attempt to find out how to make a dot-matrix display, there doesn't seem to be an online guide that tells you in straightforward plain english. I have found some nice light boards on eBay, but they come from a chinese seller and the description is very bland, and it doesn't tell me how i would power the lights. So i need to go figure out how to make a dot-matrix display. This will be a big board of lights that will sit behind the titantron, and will be white (generating a curtain kind of effect. That is: the curtain that is behind the RAW titantron, so you can't see backstage). However, because this will be a miniature arena, the lights will (hopefully) be strong enough, that when they switch to red, they will cast a red cover on the arena (for Kane's intro, RAW opening, etc.) or green, blue etc. etc. So.. anyone here know anything about dot-matrix displays? I contacted a YouTube member who had a video of one he made, but i didn't hear back I read a few guides, etc. on t'internet but they weren't of much use, as they used very technical terms for everything. which threw me off a little and confused me, and i can't seem to find a very basic one, for someone who knows very little about electronics, and wants to build a one-off project

It is very difficult to find any lights for a stage that you will have total control over. I used to have that light that you showed a few post up several years back. Those lights come apart and separate and I have since sold those lights but still have the controller which you can hook up to anything and control... can't control color just speed and sound sensitivity.
When I was building a real scale raw stage for the circle lights along the tron I used those small flashing led lights that you twist to turn on. The ones I got flashed red and blue. Drill to size into the wood and they will fit and you can just twist them from behind to turn them on. Like I said though you can't control the colors though.
Here are just some random links to lights that I am looking at for building the new HD stage.... might be useful for yours.

The Whole F'n sXe Show: I searched "dot-matrix" on that site, and it only listed one item. A Casio calculator If i can get a board big enough, I will be able to put a huge dot-matrix behind the raw titantron. This would (hopefully be strong enough to) cast a light on the miniature arena. Meaning that when i switch from triple H to Kane's intro, the lights will go from green to red, and cast a kinda green or red blanket over the arena (making everything red or green etc.) I don't know how to make a dot-matrix display though. thats the problem i'm facing. I want it to be able to do this kinda thing: id also like to know how to do this, for pyro effects, etc. I'd be needing something like this, but on a bigger scale: (I wish all these youtube links were eBay links. Would make it a lot easier) but i wana try making one myself. that way i can position the LED's at the bottom of the board to fit for the RAW stage, and have the other ones (above the stage) all over the place, to look good

the BRIGHT ideas displayed here PUNjabi prison match! Nice but context is necessary...also you didnt see my earlier one that had LEAD one from the bright ideas. ---------------- As for helping you, try speaking to someone in store like a hardware store or at an electrical store. Get some real proper solid advice if the internet is failing you.
