It took 9/11 before George Bush would go after those evil doers. Do you see how preposterous that sounds? FDR was a great war time president, to say they bungled the war, or didn't act with urgency (especially since Pearl Harbor is a bit of a mystery in itself much like 9/11 is) doesn't tell the whole story, we were preparing for war prior to the attack. Obviously they managed the war properly otherwise it would have been an utter failure and the entire world would NOT be the same today. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it LBJ that lied about the invasion of Vietnam and NOT Kennedy? While he was a Democrat, he still lied but things became increasingly worse when Nixon took over. So your saying since we removed ONE(there are more brutal dictators than hi BTW) guy from power, even though that isn't how the Bush Administration rationalized the war( not at first Al Qeada WMD's, after all the other lies were revealed, then it was about Saddam), even though other country's have proven WMD's , not getting retribution from 9/11(most of them got away....the IMPORTANT ones) after losing more than 3,000 troops, hundreds of thousands of civilians and spending records amount of money....that this somehow justifies the war? And if it does, than why the hell are we still there? - HE's GONE!!! First off, I stnd corrected on the LBJ portion. You are correct. And we do agree he was a slime ball. Second, I do not agree with the WWII being managed properly. Ultimately, we won the war. But it took tons of innocent people to die and the first foreign attack on American land to get us to anything. I'm sorry but after Pearl Harbor was too late. Pearl Harbor was its own 9/11, cept there were more signs for Pearl Harbor. As far as why we are still in Iraq? Did you expect us to go in and take Saddam out and then leave? What happens to Iraq? What happens to the people there? A new Democratic govt. is needed in order to for this country to rebuild. We created the mess there. We need to stay and clean it up. Yes, I want our troops home. But I know, just like the majoirty of our troops, that the work we are doing is much needed. I have talked to several troops in Iraq (both pro and anti Bush) and they all agree that Iraq is a necessary evil. They know they have a job to do and they are proud to do it. If we packed up and left the country in shambles, we would be creating a hot bed for terrorism. We cant have that. Thats what we are trying to combat. And selling the American public on a Osama/Saddam connection isnt and still isnt a hard sell. I find it telling the many reasons that you didn't like about the management of WWII (which is insane everyone in this nation made sacrifices to win the war because of their policies - NOT TODAY) is similar to the way Iraq has been managed. Your somewhat accurate on pulling out of Iraq, I'm not a proponent of withdrawing completely, but I'm also not for a perpetual illegal (didn't abide by the three justifications for war) occupation on a nation that didn't ask for this - you can't force a type of government onto to people, especially Democracy - Thats oxymoronic. It's a catch -22 really, but stay the course is not a plan for victory.

I didn't get to vote, I'm a republican only by nature of loathe for a democrat who was running when I got to vote for the first time. Anyhow, if I had voted, I'd be enticed to vote Hilary. Say what you will, at least no matter who wins the election, we'll get a manHermaphrodite in office.. HisIts name is Bill Hillary. Fixed for ya. ;D Burn

We will be able to travel to Mars and inhabit it with a population faster than we will ever get Democracy in the middle east.

Iraq can and will work. But we have to be willing to put the necessary time into it.

So I forgot the polls were going to close when I rented King of Kong and now I'm behind big time. So far from what I've gathered from CNN it seems to be pretty even on the Democrat side, I'm not really following the Republicans, I'll catch up on them in the next couple days.
