CRACK! The ball is lined into right field by the man at the plate. The batter drops the bat, and runs to first base, and makes it successfully as he scores a single. The next man up to bet steps into the batters box, and the runner at first leads off. Here’s the pitch…SMASH! The ball flies deep into centre field, and it’s…GONE! A home run, and the Blue Jays score two. Yes, we are at what is called the Roger’s centre, home of the Blue Jays. The Jays are playing the Baltimore Oriels. The fans are cheering on the team as the runners finally get home to score the runs they just batted in. They get into the dugout, and right after they get in, a small glance to the left, and who do we see? None other then Calvin Lee, sitting right beside the dugout in the bottom section of the stadium. He watches the game and sees that the next batter pops up a fly ball, only to be caught by the second baseman, giving Baltimore three outs. The teams switch spots, the Jays now on defence, and Baltimore is up to bat. Calvin Lee sees that it’s commercial time for the game.
Calvin Lee: The Jays, such an underdog team if I should say so. Five years ago, this team has no one on it. They traded all their good players away, only to get prospects out of it. Then the Jays slowly had to rebuild themselves, as well, with as many rookies as they had, they weren’t doing all too well in the standings. It took them about five years, but they are finally doing something out there. They are contenders now. What used to be a team of rookies is now a team with young, talented star players that are no where near their prime, but still are putting up big time numbers. This team reminds me of someone, and that someone is me. I started out horrible in my career in wrestling, it took me months to get going, no one thought I could make it, Then I became a champion. Then I came here, and it started over again. No one thought of me as anything. Hell, the owners made me prove to them I was good, it wasn’t worth the effort, I left. I came back with better owners, and they gave me Michael Kyzer. I came closer then anyone else did to beating him. And now look at how things have turned out, months after me starting, I have a shot at the number one contender ship for the Ham Shank title. Who would have thought Calvin Lee would be here right now. I bet no one did. I bet you they all laughed at me. I bet you even Jaysin was laughing at me. I recall actually, a long time ago, when me and you faced off. I beat you. You were teamed with Ganador at that time if I remember correctly. That was back when I was teamed with Luther Castle. Well guess what Jaysin, we both don’t have partners this time. It’s just me, and you.
Commercial is over, and the fans start to cheer. A batter for Baltimore steps into the batters box. He swings, and hit’s the pitch. It’s a grounder to the short stop. Easy out for the Jays. Calvin Lee applauds along with the fans. He’s really enjoying this game. With the dome open today, we it’s a nice day out, it’s all good for Calvin Lee. Another groundball from the second batter, this one to third. He’s thrown out at first. The third batter steps in, and swings at the pitch. It’s does deep left field, however it’s not deep enough, and the left fielder is able to catch the ball and get the third out. The teams switch again, and there is another commercial since this short inning is over.
Calvin Lee: Jaysin, you remind me of Baltimore. You are there, but you just can’t make that extra step to get over the top. You don’t have the skill to make it just yet. You might have been here longer then I have, but I have gained more experience then you have. I have gone up against Kyzer, and almost beat him. Whether you have faced him or not, you weren’t as close as I was. But you know Jaysin, I’ve been watching you a lot and have realized you actually like to be the underdog in matches. You like to be the one who gets hit first, so you can counter, and win. Well Jaysin, I have to break it to ya, but that there, is going to be your downfall against me. Now, I know what you are going to say. You are going to say “Oh, but I am “THE ONE.” I can get through anything, because I am so intense and so focused into making it big in the WFWF.” Poor naive Jaysin. You have to realize it takes more then just intensity and being focused to be big here. You have to make something drastic happen in the WFWF. You remind me of the typical amateur who wants to make it big. You try and you try and you try, but you just can’t do it. Well, the reason is because you just can’t make it until you give yourself a challenge. Trying is one thing, giving yourself a challenge is another. My challenge was Michael Kyzer. I didn’t win, but I showed everyone I almost could. I hope you realize Jaysin what I am saying here. Lucky you, you don’t have to look for a challenge, you have one, me. Too bad you’ll fail at beating me, but if you are worth anything to this league, and if you are actually wanting to make it big in the WFWF, you’ll give me a match I’ll never forget.
The Jays are back up, and they start swing and hitting balls, and Calvin Lee never notices this going on. Instead, he just continues with what he has to say, not realizing what he’s missing.
Calvin Lee: Jaysin, last time I faced you, you were nothing. It was a clean sweep facing you and Ganador. I am asking you Jaysin, please, oh please, give me a reason to beat you. I mean, not only is it annoying to just sit there, and beat someone like a jobber, but this is for the Ham Shank Title. If you are lined up for this title, you better be worth fighting. Most people would want an easy fight. Something that will for surely win them the title. I don’t like that, I want a challenge. Give me what you have, give me everything you have. Give me that 7th inning stretch I’ve been waiting for. Give me that grand slam if it’s in you. Or even better, give me that Line Driver that you so dearly lose to use to win matches. Give me anything, just make it a challenge.
Calvin Lee hears a crack of the bat, and sees he has missed a couple innings during his ranting. He is a little frustrated and annoyed that this has happened. He looks at the score. Still 2-0 Jays. He gives out a small sigh of relief. He then starts to eye the game, seeing that it’s now the top of the 5th inning.
Calvin Lee: Jaysin, I hope you understand what I am saying here. If you give me nothing in this match, I am going to make sure you suffer. I will make you give me all you have. Even better though, if you like people hitting you first, you better bet your ass I’ll make you attempt to counter any move I send your way. Just remember Jaysin, one shot of the Wrist Clutch burning Hammer, and you are done. No one has been able to kick out of it, it’s a knock out shot every time, and if you don’t counter it, you’ll be the next to suffer from it. Be prepared when we face Jaysin, because it will be hell if you are not. Now if you excuse me, I have a baseball game to watch. Ranting on about you Jaysin have made me miss a couple innings, and I’m kind of pissed over that now, I’ll see you at our match Jaysin.
Calvin Lee turns his head, and starts to watch the game. He starts to get excited as a ball has just been smashed into the fences, and the score just hit 3-0 Jays. Everyone cheers, and as they cheer louder and louder, it gets darker and darker until it’s black.
