“Absence makes the heart grow fonder”
Sometimes, it is necessary to take time out and have a break. Sometimes, it is important to know when the time is right to sit back and watch from a distance. But eventually the time is right to come back into the firing line and sometimes, it is essential to stand up and be counted. Sometimes, there is unfinished business and sometimes it is necessary to make sure that everything is complete. Yes, absence makes the heart grow fonder but sometimes, that is not enough.
Odium is just about an hour from starting; the crowd is beginning to pile into the arena, which is now half full. Excitement levels are rising as the people who are in grow impatient, wanting the show to start as soon as possible. They do not have to wait very long for something to happen though because unexpectedly the lights go out and the opening of “Bang Bang You’re Dead” comes on. At about the 30-second mark, just before the words, this a small burst of silver pyrotechnics. As the song continues spotlights flash over the entranceway. A few seconds or so later, Master of Destruction appears through the curtain. He walks a few paces and then stops, surveying the crowd. At about the 1 minute, 15 second mark, just as the song comes to the main chorus a display of gold pyrotechnics comes soundlessly shooting from the entrance way. The song continues as Master of Destruction slowly swaggers to the ring occasionally stopping to shake his head in disgust at the fans. He walks up the steel steps and climbs into the ring. He then nonchalantly climbs two of the four turnbuckles, one after the other and just stares out at the crowd. He steps down and then stands patiently in the ring. He looks around as more people, hearing the music and pyrotechnics try to rush into the arena to see what is happening. Master of Destruction takes a microphone from ringside and then waits, with satisfaction on his face as he sees people rushing around. He puts the microphone to his lips and coughs a couple of times in a way to ensure everyone’s listening. He then begins speaking in his usual arrogant tone.
“If I can have your attention please…I think this is something that you will all want to listen to. You see it is all over the Internet as I am sure the majority of you will know that I am back in WFWF. Now that is a big story…that is landmark. But you see nobody can accept that I am back in WFWF as the full story. Nobody can just leave it at that, instead they have to pry and poke and try and find out what my motives are for returning. Well those people are right in thinking that I have motives for returning because don’t think that I am coming back here just to wrestle. Quite frankly, the reasons for my return are not going to be disclosed fully at this juncture or in other words mind your own business you nosy bastards. But I will fuel your rumours and I will give you a clue. I am not here to win the WFWF Championship. Like I have mentioned in the past, that championship means nothing to me and less now because of the mockery that it has become. So my motive is not to fill the hole in my career by winning the championship. No, I am here for more personal reasons. I have some unfinished business that I need to attend to. I have a plan as all good characters do, yes I have a plan. And over the next few weeks I will carry out my master plan…and yes the pun was intended. But before that can happen there is a spanner in the works, a spanner in the from of Reverend Shadow. Now don’t get me wrong, I do not have a problem with Reverend Shadow in fact I couldn’t really care less about him and what he has done here or what he intends on doing. All I know is, he is in my way and in order for me to complete my business I need to knock him out of my way. What is there for me to stand here and tell you about Reverend Shadow? The truth is I have nothing to say about him. But one thing I can always be credited with is being able to talk a lot of bull **** and fill in the time and I will admit, that’s what I am just about to do. Now Rev…can I call you that? Ah well that’s what I’ll call you. I watched Scars and Stripes. Well when I say watched what I actually mean is I endured Scars and Stripes. Now my opinions on this show matter nothing at all but I mean at one point I was considering calling up and asking for them to pay me to view it. But I digress. I watched the match that featured Rev. And now without being over critical but come on, it was nothing to shake a stick at. First of all I cannot believe I just used that phrase but ignoring that it is true, what kind of deal is that. You won a battle royal. Yay…lets all celebrate; Reverend Shadow has made it big. I could win a battle royal with my eyes closed. It is the easiest match to win and you know it. But I watched Odium last week and without even known about our match, I was drawn to yours. You really are being booked as the big draw huh? You are main event and you are big time but in reality, all you did was beat a hobo. So lets recap, I watch two shows and I see you win a match by not going out the ring and a match against a messed up hobo. If that’s what it takes to get a reputation around here then things have really gone to hell. You might have a bright future here in WFWF but face it I have had a brighter past than you can imagine. I am in the hall of fame and I am the biggest draw this company will ever see. I sell tickets Reverend Shadow, I sell out arenas all over the world. I have won championships in South Africa and I have kicked ass in Europe. You know why? Not because I am particularly good…which by the way I am but because I have charisma. I am attractive to the fan base. I can come out here each and every week and insult this crowd. I could mention the fact that Canada sucks…or something of a similar style. I could insult this guy in the front row by mentioning the fact that perhaps he needs to cut down on the burgers and get his fat ass to the gym. That would be cheap heat. But the point is can insult each and everyone here and each and everyone at home and they will still come to watch me because I entertain them. I have them in the palm of my hand. The real point and believe there actually is one…is that Reverend Shadow when it comes down to it people don’t really want to see you with your overused dark gimmick. That’s what we need to see every week. Note the sarcasm in case you didn’t notice. People want to see me; people are entertained by what I do here. They boo me because I want them to boo me. They boo you because they don’t like you. Going into this match I have nothing to worry about. I know that if I am at my best I will beat you hands down. Tonight like I mentioned earlier I am here for my reasons and I am here for the bigger picture. I would liken the situation to a pack cards…stay with it. I am the ace in the pack and you…you are the joker. You are the card that is thrown to the side. When people play cards if the joker is there the game is ruined. Tonight you are the card that I don’t need; you will be thrown to the side. It’s nothing personal my friend but believe me if you show any signs of fight…if it looks like you are going to do well I can switch in a flash BANG…you will be destroyed. Tonight I return to the ring and tonight I do it in style."
Master of Destruction drops the microphone as the chorus of “bang bang you’re dead” hits. He climbs out of the ring and swaggers back up the ramp, throwing insults at the crowd as he goes. He goes through the curtain as the rest of the fans continue to pile in.

OOC: Meh, not the greatest although I enjoyed writing this for some reason. No offense meant...I dunno if this is gonna be good enough...Good luck to Reverend Shadow.
