The scene opens in the master bedroom of Thunder’s huge mansion. On one side is a king sized bed covered in a red silk bedspread. The unusually large headboard holds a stack of books. On the wall opposite the bed is a flat-screen TV, resting in the wall. The wall to the right has three small windows, and to the left a walk-in closet and a mirror. Part of Thunder’s body can be seen in the walk-in closet, which is open. He steps out with a navy blue tie and black sports coat in his hand, which would complete his current outfit of a white oxford shirt and black slacks. Suddenly, there is a knock at the door. A look of anger flashes on Thunder’s face as he tosses the tie and jacket on the bed. He walks over and opens the door. On the other side is his maid. She is about 30, shabbily dressed in grey t-shirt and jeans. While she is pretty, her face shows the affects of years of smoking.
The limo driver called. He’s caught in traffic, so he will be a few minutes late.
Oh, that’s just great. He was probably sitting around doing nothing, and then realized he actually had a job to do. Does he even know that I’ve got a flight to Indonesia that he could very easily make me late for?
I’m sure he understands the importance of making the flight for your next match.
This isn’t just my “next match”. It’s a lot more than that, which is obviously a concept you and him can’t understand. Can you even comprehend what I went through at Superbrawl for the Internet Title? I went through tables, landed on thumbtacks, and left stains of my own blood on the canvas. I left parts of myself in that ring, but I came up short. If I win at Odium, I get one more shot at the belt. This is a huge match for me, but the two of you can’t comprehend that because you’re just a maid and he’s just a limo driver.
The maid gets angrier after the last comment. She wants to come back at him, but knows it will cost her the job. She makes good money, and doesn’t want to risk it. Instead, she defends the limo driver.
He probably knows that this match means a lot to you. He said he was trying his hardest to get here as quickly as possible.
And you expect me to believe that? It’s not only a #1 contender’s match for a title I came so close to getting before. I’m pretty much guaranteed a win in this match. The only way I’ll lose is if I’m not there because I missed my flight. Just look at whom I am facing. Quain Chin is of course the favorite because he has the whole continent of Asia on his side. He has hopes of winning his first title in the continent that he thinks he is far superior to the rest. I will squash his dream. Christian Shields had a shot at the tag team titles at Superbrawl, but he couldn’t get it done. Now he thinks he has a shot in the singles division. He should just find a partner and give the tag titles title another shot, because as long as I’m a singles wrestler I’ll always be a step ahead of him. My other opponent, Brady Cool, knows what I went through at Superbrawl because he was also in the match. He went through just as much pain, and fought just as hard as me. I have no doubt that he will do the same at Odium. But he won’t win for the same reason he had no chance at Superbrawl: he isn’t even in the same league as me. That’s not bragging. That’s a fact. I’ve laid him out before, and I will do it again. Now, if you’re not as dumb as you look, I’m sure you can get that this match is an easy win. And if the words I was using weren’t too big, you probably also have figured out that the only flaw in this is that in order to win, I have to be there.
She gets even angrier, but once again holds back.
Yeah, I get it.
Good. This next part could be tricky, let me know I’m speaking too fast for you. I want you get out of here and call the limo driver. You tell him that if I miss my flight, or if he is ever late again he will be fired.
Against her best judgment, the maid decides to take a stand.
What is wrong with you? This is ridiculous. Even if he is late, give him another chance. You know he needs this job.
I’m sure he does depend on this job to support his family, or whatever the hell he needs the money for. But do you know who else needs their job? You do. If it wasn’t for me do you know what you’d be doing? You have no real skills, no real talents. You’d be standing on a street corner turning tricks for a fraction what I pay you as a maid. So you better do your job and shut your mouth or you’ll suffer the same fate that he will. Now go and call him. I don’t want you back up here unless that limo is parked in front of the house.
Like a frightened turtle going back in its shell, the maid becomes passive again. She just pushed her luck, and knows if it happens again it could very well cost her a well paying job. She pulls out her cell phone before closing the bedroom door. Thunder lets out a sigh and shakes his head in disapproval. He walks back to the bed and grabs the tie. He turns to the mirror and quickly ties it, due to having done it so many times before. Then, he picks up the sports coat, puts it on, and buttons it. After a look at his watch, he sits down on the bed and puts his head down, waiting for the arrival of the limo. Finally, there is a knock at the door. The maid speaks from the other side.
He’s here.
It’s about time.
Thunder gets up from the bed and grabs a leather luggage bag that sits beside it. He flings it over his shoulder, and with no time to waste, quickly opens and then slams the door shut. The scene fades.
OOC: I tried doing an RP with a second person involved, which I have never done before. I think it turned out okay, probably my best since returning. I might have another one up later, maybe not. Feedback is appreciated.
