September 11, 2001 ~ A day noone will ever forget.
Joe Kessen stands in the rain of this cold, harsh day. Rain pours down upon him, almost as if the heavens are weeping for the lost lives. His black hoodie and dark blue jeans are soaked from the downpour, but he doesn’t seem to notice. He just stares at the giant hole where the towers used to stand. Only a cold heart could not be moved by such a powerful image.
We’ve all heard the story, but once more won’t hurt. A group of terrorists decided to hijack four airplanes, and crash them into our buildings. Over three thousand were killed that day. That’s not even one percent of our population. So why do we care? Why DO we care? People die every day. So what makes this day so special? It wasn’t an attack on just those people. It was an attack on America. It was an attack on me, and on you. Even if you’re not an American, it was an attack on you. It was an attack on every person who lives in a free country. That’s why we care. My name is Joe Kessen, and I am an American.
Joe slowly turns around, wiping tears from his eyes. People pass from all levels of society, poor, rich, today it doesn’t seem to matter. Nor do the clothes they wear. Joe sees everything from shorts and a Hawaiian shirt to a four thousand dollar suit. They are embrace and cry together. Joe looks to the skies and just wonders why, why God oh why.
Why oh Lord, why did this happen. Why must three thousand souls die, why must the families suffer so much?
Almost as if receiving an response, Joe pauses for a minute. He answers his own question.
It’s because men are evil by nature. It’s true. Deep down we still have that animal instinct intact. That’s why such evil is done in this world. Terrorists think we need to convert. It’s convert or die by the blade. That’s why, That’s why such evil is done. Those bombers....
Something strikes Joe, and he soon remembers what. He has an Odium match tonight.
Bomber....That’s my opponent isn’t it? What cruel jerk uses a name like Bronx Bomber? It’s almost as if you are making a mockery of our the terrorist bombings. Do you think it’s funny to see people blown up? What about Oklahoma? When it was children being harmed? Was that funny? How about the Twin Towers? Was that funny? Do you enjoy watching burning people fall from buildings? Did you enjoy watching people die? Maybe, maybe I have you wrong. But if I don’t, you have one sick fetish. Now Broxie, I don’t know you. But I know your kind. Yea, I do. If we met backstage, I know exactly how it would go. “You dun know what it’s like to be me. Come down to tha ghetto, to Bronx NY. Then you’ll see man. You’ll see then homes.” See what Broxie Bomber? See people who need help? I see that every time I turn on the tv. See people who are misguided? I see that too. The Bronx is nothing special. It’s just another place, just like any other. And it’s scrum like you who make it that way. Men who have prison records longer than Lord Of The Rings, [under his breath] never did finish that book. Men like you ruin this world. Then when you get arrested, whose fault is it? Oh right! Society! Because we all know George Bush doesn’t care about black people or any minorities. Funny how he gives some of the most powerful positions to them. Broxie, you claim to be “gansta”. Al Capone must turn in his grave every time you say that. You are not a gangster. You are nothing but a low life scrum criminal. I’m not trying to put Al on a pedestal, he was a bastard. But he earned the title gangster. You’ve done nothing compared to what he had accomplished.` You know, I might go a little gangster after our match. Telling the ladies to “Say hello to my little friend” the Internet Championship. So what else do you do? Do you also rap? I like to consider myself one of the few “white boys” who can rap. Want to hear one? You do? That’s awesome let me try some freestyle.
Yo homes, my name is Joe Kessen and it’s true, its true.
You know I bleed the red , the white and the blue.
My bosses are total dope heads
But the money puts a roof over my bed.
I have a match so I better shove.
Terrorism, my opponent is supportive of
But he isn’t Muslim, no no no no
I be styling
But I ain’t racial profiling.
Ok, ok my rap plain out sucked. I’m not really a rapper. I’ll admit it man. I couldn’t rap myself out of a Christmas present. You can probably do better. But That’s the one thing you can do better. Tonight, I prove I’m better in the ring. And when I do, that Internet title will be mine.
The drenched Joe looks back at the ground, and the tears start up again. Five years ago Terrorists blew up some buildings. They killed three thousand people, barely a dent in the population. So why do we care? Because they were other humans. And now there are three thousand families who are still in mourning. God bless those families.
OCC: Ok, I probally should have stayed away from the 9/11 thing. But Joe is an all American. It didn't seem right for him not to touch on the subject. And orginally it was going to be posted yesterday.
