I said to myself never again, I told myself it was over, I told myself to walk away and not look back….but then someone told me I was a liar.
Laughter can be heard all around as a joyful familiar tune plays. At the top a bright red and yellow stripped vinyl ceiling provides the cover for a circled area of sand below. On the ground two colourfully dressed clowns dance around performing humorous antics for on lookers. Suddenly there is a loud crack as the lights around cut off leaving just one spotlight lit.
I’ve been the center of attention, as far as the materialistic gains and competitive accolades go, I’ve done it all…..
Standing in the light is a short stubby man of Asian descent wearing a large black leather top hat and sparkling red jacket. Tightly grasped in the mans right hand is thick black leather whip, the end of which is flat on the ground carving a hole right through the sand onto the wooden panels beneath it. The sand around the whip as arose on impact into a small cloud that slowly flutters back down with each grain standing out against the light as it descends.
…..and lost it all. Although it is now not about the lights or the glory, it is about answers to questions that still haunt me to this day. Unresolved issues that over time have become a bigger burden and shame then any defeat or scar could ever be.
Standing on a platform behind the spotlight at the top of the structure is a man hidden by shadow. The man is crouched low looking down over the hundreds of people sat around the outside of the circle. Slowly the man turns his head up and watches as a sliver microphone now lowers down from the roof and into the left hand of the man stood in front of the audience.
Ringmaster: Ladies and gentle, boys and girls, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the big top for tonight’s performance.
He might be the most honest man I have known, a performance, that is all I am. Everything that I can remember to this day has all been for everyone but myself, for I don’t even know who I really am.
Ringmaster: I assure you all that our head lining act tonight will shock, astound and thrill you all as this dare devil performs acrobatic moves high above us all without wires or a net, he truly is risking his life for our entertainment.
Some things never change. If this were a movie of my life I’d have some scenes that require closure, some names to thank with the credits and of course, an ending…..but as I said, I’m a liar. I know nothing of the actors and sets that surrounded me, to me this place with all the make up, costumes and tricks is more real then the place where I was once the lead role…..I was the leading actor but I was always blind to the script….but now it’s time to find the director behind the show, it’s time for me to write the script and know my part….
Ringmaster: So without further a do I present to you….
….not as a saviour….
Ringmaster:….the death defying….
….not as a shadow of what I was ….
Ringmaster:…..the high flying…..
….I’ll take grace from this fall and be who I am….
Ringmaster: Ladies and Gentleman, here’s…..
….I’ am.
Ringmaster:….Johnny!
The spotlight now swings upwards as the man leaps out from behind it and off of the platform performing a flip in the air before grabbing onto a swing and using the momentum to move closure to the crowd. As the man glides through the air his facial area becomes visible with his long brown hair slightly blown back to expose a short, roughly grown, beard and a set of dark brown eyes, as the scene begins to fade the man is reviled to be the WFWF hall of famer Johnny ‘The Movie Man’ Michaels.

OOC: Nothing special really just a short hype thing to get back into the mood for it. When he went Michaels joined the circus and now he's back to do the stuff he went through and some other stuff that in all honesty isn't planned. Oh and I'm not too keen on the whole monologue thing so I don't intend to do it much but it was the best way to go around this thing I think.
