The scene begins with bright red and yellow stripped walls surrounding the area, every few seconds these walls vibrate as a gush of wind passes on the outside. On the inside rows of empty seats face a circle area of sand that makes up the staging area of the circus. A few lights inside the tent remain on as various employees begin cleaning after the nights show with some items such as giant animal toys and a small clown’s unicycle being packed into storage crates. Under one light two figures can be seen, one a small child with his face stretched creating a smile across it as he laughs and watches the actions of the other person. The other is a grown man who’s features are covered by his own shadow as his back is to the light. As the boy continues to laugh the man reaches to his side and from under the elastic of his trousers pulls out an item, slowly he grasps it with one hand clinching the handle of the item tightly before moving it to point the a barrel end toward the child. Pointed toward the child now is a gun, slowly the child’s mouth drops open and he moves his hands up over his face trying to shield it, the boy then closes his eyes tightly to the point where his eyelashes cross but as he does the man squeezes the trigger. Seconds later the child takes in a gasp of air and moves his arms down to his chest, wrapping them around himself tightly as he slumps down onto the ground. The child hits the sand knocking grains of it into the air, the grains slowly fall back down landing next to the gun as the man drops it and holds his head in his hands.
?????: Why do people come to a place like this? Why do people want to see the tricks done here? How does anyone fall for such tricks?
On the outskirts of the sand circle a lone man sits on a wooden barrel watching the two figures in the sand. The child remains down on the ground as the man standing over him runs his hands down his face, suddenly the child breaks out into a loud cry of laughter. The boy sits up and looks at the man who moves his hands away from his face to revile face covered in red and white clown make up that has now been smudged by water from the back firing water pistol that lay on the ground. The man sat on the barrel tilts back allowing his long brown hair to fall away from his face to show his identity as WFWF hall of famer Johnny ‘The Movie Man’ Michaels.
Michaels: Easily, their always too distracted by the costumes and characters to realise the simplicity of what is happening before them. People will only ever know what you tell them and will only ever see what you show them……that is the story of my life.
The clown rubs his hand through the kid’s hair and says his goodbyes before leaving the sand area where the kid remains playing alone. As he plays a short man of Asian descent wearing a shiny red jacket walks around the edges of the sand toward Johnny Michaels.
?????: Johnny, I have you’re share.
The ringmaster then reaches across with his right hand and places it into a top hat held under his left arm where he begins flickering through some envelopes before pulling one out and quickly checking the name on the front of it before handing it to Michaels.
Michaels: Thanks Kazuki.
Michaels takes the envelope and carefully opens it slightly to peak inside.
Kazuki: Ah don’t thank me yet, it’s only three hundred, been in this town a little too long, it’s good that we’re moving now.
Michaels closes the envelope and places it on the floor to his side.
Kazuki: Your not going to count it?
Michaels lets out a faint smile before shaking his head slowly.
Michaels: No, I have no reason to not trust you.
Kazuki laughs light heartedly.
Kazuki: Sure, even if I did short change you, your off to become Mr big superstar again.
Michaels turns his head away from Kazuki and sighs.
Michaels: That’s not what it’s about.
Kazuki: Then why go back?
Michaels looks at the child playing in the sand as he begins to speak.
Michaels: I’m sick of the running….everyday I’m someone else, think of how life would be if you woke up one day a pilot, then the next day the sun rises and you’re suddenly a doctor and then the next day a lawyer, everyday someone different, being everyone but yourself because that’s the one person you can’t be when all of the changing began so long ago you struggle to remember who you are. You can scream for help and a hundred voices answer, but there all your own yet all unknown…..I have to go back not for riches, not for glory but to catch myself.
Kazuki: Then why did you leave there in the first place?
Michaels: You accepted me for what I was, despite being little more than a charismatic conman you took me in without judgement and after so long it was nice to stop. Be as close to normal as someone like me could be for a while…..but this still isn’t who I am, no matter how much I’d like to act and say it is, it isn’t so it’s time to run again.
Kazuki places his hand on Michaels shoulder and in response Johnny turns to look at him.
Kazuki: Well remember, you are welcome back here anytime.
Kazuki turns and begins to away when he suddenly pauses and turns his head to the side.
Kazuki: By the way, who is it your facing?
Michaels: Pohatu.
Kazuki: Ah, a man with some history, perhaps not the easiest return but best of luck.
Kazuki now continues to walk eventually disappearing into the back area of the circus as Michaels remains seated.
Michaels: Lighting Pohatu….a man with history….I suppose that is true but it was not history written in the same books as mine….but when gazing out of a window during a storm the lighting bolts can be seen from a great distance, however to the person watching the effects mean nothing. All the matters is the present and already Pohatu fell for the con.
Michaels stands up and looks around, he casts his eyes at a group of circus clowns talking at the far side of the tent.
Michaels: As I said, people fall for the tricks because their too draw in by the costume. The idea that everything comes at a face value does not hold, think Leonardo Da Vinci, a crazed man who cut off his own ear under his own free will, surely someone of that mental state could not have achieved much, and yet he is one of the greatest artists of all time. Doe’s the right suit, tie and walk automatically brand a man a success? Do you become a doctor simply by wearing a white coat? Does a man currently residing in a circus really pose no threat?
A smile stretches across Michaels face for a few seconds before he continues.
Michaels: The con was already in progress, seeing myself hit a new low has you believing that a confrontation with me wouldn’t be a problem, that at this point I have nothing to give…..but take your eyes off the pitcher and suddenly your out. Without trying you’ve let me into your head, you’ve thought more about who I am, what I have done and what I am doing currently instead of what I will being doing when the time comes. It’s a simple trick and no matter if you like it or not, you’ve been fooled.
Michaels starts to walk across the sand toward the boy playing in the center of it.
Michaels: Why do I tell you this? Because doing so raises a challenge, you’ve got me in the same place soon but will you still fall for the same trick? If you want to be at the top of the mountain here, then well, I guess I am one of those you have to catch…..though your not the only one in this race, I’m like you, I know the face but not the true character so you can try to catch my whilst I’ll catch myself if I can.
Michaels now lifts up boy onto his shoulders and begins walking away with the kid.
Michaels: Son….did I ever tell you the story about the two mice that fell into a bowel of milk?
The boy shakes his head.
Michaels: Well they were two mice that snuck into a farmers building and inside they both slipped off of a ledge and landed in a bowel of milk, one quickly gave in and drowned, the other swam as hard as he could and eventually he turned the milk into cream and walked out.
Michael’s son giggles in amusement of the story.
Michaels: Of course, if that were me I’d have been the mouse who though he’d keep forgetting how to swim, he’d never let his head fall below.
Michaels now heads out of the circus exit with his high on his shoulders. The pair exit the tent they begin heading across a long open field with a moonlight night’s sky hanging over the two as the scene comes to an end.

OOC: Not my greatest ever but meh rust I guess. I liked the beginning alot and it's a step up from the original version I did. The Kazuki guy isn't a one off there is more of a use for him yet and I used a part of the RP to give a reason ish as to why Michaels was away and coming back so yeah.
