I have fallen; but I can get up
“Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.”
“That's what learning is, after all; not whether we lose the game, but how we lose and how we've changed because of it and what we take away from it that we never had before, to apply to other games. Losing, in a curious way, is winning.”
“Most people give up just when they're about to achieve success. They quit on the one yard line. They give up at the last minute of the game, one foot from a winning touchdown.”
“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.”[/i]
Thursday morning and my heart is racing. I have did everything I can to prepare myself for my big fight. But still my adrenaline is rushing and I'm not fully satisfied with being done. I guess I should find comfort in being prepared and not getting lazy in such a opportune fight as this truly is. But it also goes back to why I can't maintain a relationship as the sex never satisfied me either. But seriously I'm not sure what to do. I probably should head home and catch some sleep, with a long ride ahead and very little time to rest my eyes. As good as that sounds, I dunno. Wait, what's this?
As we now focuse in, we see Mia Porter, in her car. Somewhat zoned out at a stop sign, as she comes to with the ringer of her celluar phone going off.
She pulls the phone out of her pocket, she takes a moment to think whose number is it.
As her eyes begin to open wider with the sunlight in her eyes. She takes note of what time it is. It's eight in the morning. Surprised at the fact she fell asleep. She puts her windshield wipers on only to notice her car covered in snow, two feet deep within a snowbank.
Her phone still ringing, she finally opens up.
Hello? Whose this?
Nobody answers. As she looks to close the phone. but notices "1 missed call." She checks to see the number, but still can't make it out as anybody she would know.
She puts the phone on it's charger, as the battery is one bar away from being dead. She then takes her keys out of the ignition, and opens her door, only to find the snow inches away from trapping her in. She shuts the door but not fully and looks around for a snow brush but finds nothing. She pushes her door open once more, and prepares to step out, but her foot buries in the snow like as if it was attached to an anchor.
As her phone begins to ring once more, this time the number is identified as "Mark". She smiles and picks the phone up. In the proccess thinking of a way to keep a calm demeanor.
Hey
Hi Mark, whats up?
Not alot Mia, just checking to see if you're still stuck in that snowbank over there on Teal and Hiawatha?
What? Am I dreaming? Am I dead? Is he joking with me and the reason I'm stuck out it like a freakin' penguin?
Listen Mia, we partied hard and I didn't feel comfortable with you driving me or anybody home. So I just caught a bus and made sure nothing would happen to you. I didn't consider the fact they'd be plowing over there...
He's trying to be smooth. That was nice of him to watch out for me. But he thinks he's funny with those wise cracks. He is but it's not funny, he knows I hate the snow. Hell I hate syracuse. I prefer cities that don't have two seasons, but that's another story. Hopefully he isn't calling me to let me know the rescue crew or something is on there way.
So are you mad?
No.
So is that the most I get for pulling double duty and being both a friend and a owner? One word and awkward silence?
No Mark, it's just... I'm kinda stuck, you know? So...
Once again you owe me. haha. I'll be their in twenty.
Thanks.
No Problem
Mark or CBT to most has been nothing but good to me. He has made me who I am by not making me be this or that. It's funny how we're the same age and yet he took me under my wing and trained me with the three years of experience he has. He never told me I had to slap, pull hair, or dumb myself down to translate what I love to the fans that share the same passion. He's the only guy who has put me through hell only because he seen me as equal, and never intended to "hurt" me. Just prepare me for what punishment I should be ready and willing to take. So I guess it's hard to talk to him and not be left wing on what I feel for him. I treat him like a brother, I'm like his sister, but all he has done for me makes me love him in a way that is just asking for trouble.
But I can live with just being friends. It doesn't have to be much more then that. It's almost consumes my mind at times but it's the competition in the ring that drives me to fight what I feel I need to fight for...
Almost deja vu like, Mia is once again brought back to a conscious state, as she seemingly drifted off. But is awaken by a tapping noice on her window. She puts the keys in, and pulls down the window.
So I travel across the city to save your ass, and all you can do is crack open the window?
Pretty much, unless you can think of something better?
Yeah, leaving you here, and heading to St Louis.
Once again he thinks he's funny. But I enjoy that side of him. Recently he's had alot of stress at home, and I've been there to keep the fort down. But when we're both on the road, we kind of lose track of the little things. The laughter. The fun.
So, I tried starting the card, and other then some shitty radio stations. There's no go. I'm kinda stuck here, anychance I can catch a ride back to my place?
Uh, slight problem there Mia. I've got my bags in my Impala, and with all the crapwith the PPV. I kinda don't wanna be reminded of home. Just need alittle time to chill maybe do something. You can grab your bags and come with me. I got a great idea if your interested.
Alright, I'll get my stuff and be right there.
As Mia pulls up her window and follows-up by taking the keys out of the ignition. She goes and gets her bags out of the backseat. In one swift motion, shutting the door and making her way to CBT's impala. As he comes over and lends a hand. All bags are placed into the car, and they begin to pull away.
It's so nice to see Mark relaxed. Not thinking about the stresses life brings. Ones he can't fight with family, and others he chooses to fight as WFWF owner. One thing I've always been fond of his he never makes our discussions about WFWF. About wrestling. About..
So your 1st PPV, are you sure you're ready? This Kira Wright's no joke. Rev picked her out and brought her in around the same time I got you to come in. But yea, Ascension is definitely a chance for you to step up.
Yea, ofcourse I'm ready. I've only had two matches in WFWF, and both of them I looked good in, and you know I don't mean my appearance. Kira Wright's a stupid bitch that came in just because she knew I was about to debut.
Yeah, but what about my question? Can you beat her? Like you said, WFWF has only seen you wrestle twice, and neither time you won.
See this is why we don't talk about wrestling. We are both amazingly competitive, and hate to lose. Not that winning is life or death, but losing is almost as degrading as being declared winner by a no show. It hurts the pride to lose. Because all your life you build yourself on being so untouchable, only for some lucky bitch to come up out of nowhere, get lucky, and touch you. I wanna be a bitch and not say another word about Kira Wright. But for now I'll be nice and see where this conversation is going.
Did I say something wrong? because if I did, then I don't get why I booked you for this PPV. Not to be a dick, but you're in a feud and on ppv, and that's alot more then most guys with much more experience.. but lets not talk about the PPV. I did have something in mind, we're almost downtown..
Downtown? What's downtown that could possibly be so damn important? If it's not a four sided ring then I can't really complain. Man I'm not really doing much to get on Mark's goodside. I'll try to lay off as he's been nothing but good since he picked me up.
As they turn the corner on Midland. CBT begins to come to a stop. As buildings surround the location. We fail to see the reason CBT has decided to come here until we see what is in the center. A huge ice rink lit up to give such a welcoming auora. As CBT parks his impala, he gets out of the drivers side. Almost catching a header as he rushes to the passenger side to open the door for Mia Porter. Both step out and look at beautiful scene before them
So are you surprised? I'm not a expert skater, but I do what I can. I use to think ice skating was for fags, but in all fairness, you gotta be quick and good on your feet, and well thats a perfect description of me
Is he talking about skating, wrestling or something totally different? Either way how do I tell him I can't skate?
It's nice. But I don't have skates or money to rent any.
That's fine I figured that. I got you covered. I'll just make sure to take it out of your paycheck. Now put these on, unless you want me to?
Funny.. even funnier is me busting my ass, trying to keep up with speed racer
No I got it. Just make sure not to get to far ahead of me.
Yea, I'll just go out there and make you look good. I'll let you run some circles around me and drag along just so you know I'm still there. But first you gotta get your fine ass out here. I'll be waiting.
Carefully Mia pulls herself up to a vertical base. Trying to maintain balance on these made for ice high heels. She manages to convince herself into a comfort zone and makes it to the gaurd, as she places her first foot on the ice. So far so good. Second foot she now begins to pullover. Fearing the worse, but no problems.
Hah. What was I worrying about, this is nothing to worry about.
As Mia begins to skate her way towards Tha CBT who is now waiting in the center of the ice, CBT begins to take note of Mia's slow skating and teases her about it. Still comfortable with the ice, she picks up speed and goes after CBT looking to tackle him, but with one swift move he dodges and Mia goes face first into the ice. Busting her lip open as it nicely begins to swell
So that pretty much covers WFWF Ascension. You falling on your face to someone you could easily beat any day of the week. The least I could do is help you up
CBT puts his hand out there, and Mia grabs it only to yank him downp
At Ascension I'll prove that I am ready. Anybody can fall down, it's getting up that really says something about who you are. So don't worry Mark, I'll show Kira Wright how much of a threat she is to me. When I end this feud decisively. With a smile on my face, and me standing tall, while she lays there fallen. No threat no longer
As we faid out with CBT sitting on the ice as Mia Porter slowly but surely gets up off the ice and begins to skate around it as if nothing ever happened
