How did this happen?
This question plagued Thunder’s every waking moment in the hours and days following WFWF’s PPV, Forever Unscarred. Somehow, someway, Yukio Blaze defeated Thunder and Kurt Burton to win the WFWF Tag Titles. He defied all odds and didn’t just defeat to wrestlers at the same time, he defeated two of the greatest wrestlers in WFWF today. It seemed impossible…and yet it happened. And in the wake of this shocking defeat, Thunder simply could not accept it. I can’t be the reason we lost, he frequently thought to himself in attempt to reassure himself that the blame could squarely be placed on Kurt. But once he tried to look at what happened in the match objectively, he knew that wasn’t true. In reality, it was Thunder who was pinned by Blaze, not Kurt. And even with that fact in mind, Thunder later felt that they were equally responsible for the loss. They won the titles together, and they lost the titles together. But how he lost isn’t all that bothered Thunder; he also needed to figure out how to recover and make that horrible night only a thing of the past.
Thunder woke up with a terrible headache. It had been happening to him a lot lately, and he figured it was because of the stress he was under. Headache or no headache, he wanted to go back to sleep. No sunshine peeked through the blinds, giving him the assumption that it was still early. When he was able to move his body and throbbing head to the end table on the left he saw the red, block numbers on the alarm clock read 5:17. These nights never seem to end, he thought to himself as he rolled back over on his side. But now with the horrible headache, sleep didn’t appear to be in the cards at this moment. The thumping pain in his head was simply too much. Screw sleep, he thought to himself as he pulled the silk sheets away and got out of bed.
Dressed in boxers and a white t-shirt, Thunder slowly and cautiously walks his way to the doorway that leads to the bathroom connected to the bedroom. In the darkness of the doorway, he felt around the wall to his right until his hand touched the light switch. Thunder’s eyes at first could not handle the light, but a few seconds later he could see the bathroom just fine. Opposite the doorway is a massive marble bathtub and shower, with a solid gold showerhead. Some would call that unnecessary, but with the money Thunder has that’s just a tiny expense. The light fixture that Thunder just turned on also appears to be made of gold. To the left is the toilet, and to the right is a mammoth marble sink. Above is a mirror, which is spotless, that can be opened to reveal a medicine cabinet. That is what Thunder walked towards. After opening the medicine cabinet, he quickly opens the bottle of Excedrin, takes two of the asprin, and the puts it back.
Walking back into the bedroom, he heads over to the walk-in closet just to the right if where he exited the bathroom. In the closet, he grabs a pair of black track pants, puts them on, and walks away, leaving the door open. The final thing he does before exiting the room is grab his cell phone from the end table.

After he left the bedroom, Thunder slowly walked his way down to the patio with his cell phone in hand. Now he sits on the patio that is located along the back of his mansion. The deck was only constructed from the finest and most expensive lumber, and the quality shows. Most normal people who dream of and eventually get a patio end up with some horrible, unstable do-it-yourself job, but this is far from that. Thunder is sitting on an elongated chair that is covered with a white cushion.. Directly to the right of Thunder is a small circular white table that he places the cell phone on. In front of him he faces a group of trees that surround the incredibly large backyard. The branches blow in the wind as a little drizzle of rain lands on the damp lawn. And now, sitting here, Thunder still can’t get that one question out of his mind.
How did this happen?
But now, more importantly, he can’t just try to figure out the past. Now he must focus on his next match, a four corners match. For Thunder, this match couldn’t be any more important. Sure, there isn’t a title on the line, but there is something more. Thunder has to prove that the loss at Forever Unscarred was just a fluke and nothing more. But he’s not trying to prove himself to the fans or anyone on the WFWF roster; he needs to prove it to himself. Yet another loss would not only shatter Thunder’s confidence, but also send him on the slippery slope to mediocrity. If that happens, Thunder thinks to himself, I’ll be almost as depressed and pathetic as Calvin Lee. He can’t help but grin a little after thinking that, but he also knows that Calvin Lee is no laughing matter. He may have gotten his ass handed to him by EBR at the PPV, but he has just as much to prove as Thunder does. Reckless, another participant in the match, is in a similar situation. After losing a match, in fact the biggest of his career, he has to show WFWF management that Josh Dean isn’t the only house show guy that deserves a permanent spot on Felo-De-Se. And Christian Rodriguez is out to prove the same thing. I guess I’m not the only one with something to prove. But I can do it; I know I can. I’ve dealt with guys like Reckless and Rodriguez countless times before. Just a couple guys on the brink of mediocrity, so close to reaches the big show, but never really getting there. Those guys come and go, and will continue to. They, like so many others, are just a step away, but when facing the big boys, will always crumble. And Calvin Lee has shown he’s no better. Actually, he might be worse. The guy has gotten so many great opportunities, like being in the World Title tournament, but he can never win even one match. At least now he’s figured out how bad he is. Everyone else has known that for a long time. I can win this. I have to. I have to…
And as Thunder was thinking this, he hardly noticed that his headache was going away and that he was drifting off to sleep.

When the phone rang, Thunder nearly jumped out of his skin. For a few seconds he just sat there before he realized that he had fallen asleep. He answered the phone, although he was most likely still a little out of it.
Thunder: Hello?
Woman: Hi Michael.
Thunder immediately knew who the woman was. It was Stacy, the woman who he had been courting for quite awhile.
Thunder: Why are you calling me so early?
Stacy: Early? It’s 10.
Thunder paused when he heard that. It seemed impossible to him that he’d been sleeping here for almost five hours.
Stacy: Michael! Are you still there?
Thunder: Yeah. Wow, I fell asleep on the patio for hours.
Stacy: Great. I’m going to take a stab in the dark and say that you were thinking about the match again, weren’t you?
Thunder: Yeah, I was.
Stacy: You need to stop that right now. Lately you’ve been impossible to be around. Let’s go to the movies later to get your mind off it. Call me back once you’re not half asleep. Bye.
Before Thunder could say his own goodbye, Stacy had hung up. For quite awhile he sat there thinking of what she had said. He knew she was right. But even as he started to call her back, the question still lingered.
How did this happen?
Stop, just stop it. What happened in the past doesn’t matter now. All that’s important is the future...[/center]
