We have learned that Kurt Angle is currently at the IFL championship event in Hollywood, FL. Angle claims to be in negotiations to fight with the promotion.
"God willing, the IFL and myself can make a deal," Angle told Alex Marvez at FoxSports.com. "the best fit for me right now as a pro wrestler who (wrestles) 120 times a year is the IFL."
Kurt claimed he would need a year of training before making his debut.

I guess that means he would leave TNA?

No it means he would try and compete in both. That could be a very bad investment for TNA. If he was to get slaughtered, he would lose legitamacy as a champion and main eventer. And if he was to get hurt......man oh man.

TNA needs to tell him no. If they can try & get Joe away from Japan then they need to keep Kurt away from here.

I thought they knew about Angle wanting to get in a MMA-style group before they even signed him, and they worked something out. But think about it, how embarrassing would it be to get destroyed at some MMA fight, then have to on tv at TNA and act like a badass? Bad idea on Angle's part. God forbid he get hurt BAD.

As he says the best fit for me as a wrestler who performs 120 times is the IFL indicates he'll do both.
Would be a great catch for IFL to have such a high profile name, just hope it don't backfire dramatically on Angle, getting KO'd by a nobody in a tuneup fight (which with Angle's lack of striking is a distinctive possibility) would shatter his prowrestling tough guy status.

Angle has been hurt enough in "fake" fighting these last few years...I can't imagine what would have now a days if he actually got punched in the head.

IFL doesn't work like that at all. They might sign him to coack a team, but he might never actually take a fight himself. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time Kurt's BS'd everybody about his MMA ideas.
