But look at it this way, you send a couple of TNA scouts to watch these guys. You never know if you'll find a guy who will blow them away talent wise that never had the opportunity before. Not too many guys might have the extra $250 to spend just for the chance to audition (especially working the independent circuit). They are hoping for the cream of the crop will show up for this...
Plus, they are getting paid $250 per audition for these guys. Could you imagine the amount of guys trying out for this. I mean if the quality is really low for an independant wrestler, do you think they'd still spend $250 just to audition...If they have to sit through just 100 of these guys, could you imagine making $25,000 just watching different guys. I mean they are getting paid to see if any of these guys have that "it" quality to make it to the next level...

You're only supposed to send scouts when you know of someone who will be on the card checking out. You don't just send out Terry Taylor to a show in Pine Bluff, Arkansas so he can watch it. You send him to a show if there is a talent on the card you need to see in person, or you bring them to the Impact tapings for a try out match. That's how it works in wrestling. Plus, they are getting paid $250 per audition for these guys. Could you imagine the amount of guys trying out for this. There's a reason this tryout gimmick is not happening anymore.

TNA's reasoning for this is obvious. The only wrestlers they've really known of the last few years, besides names from WWE or WCW, are talents in ROH. Now that option has been taken away from them due to ROH signing everybody to contracts. This is there way of looking for new talent.

This was just a money making scam, just like the $250 tryout fee at WCW's Power Plant school. At those tryouts, guys were worked so hard they would collapse, puke, or leave. Very few ever made it out of an open tryout there. Believe me, wrestling is a huge network, and if there's talent out there, somebody affiliated with TNA knows about them. This was just a way to squeeze a couple hundred out of a bunch of marks. I worked HWA's big 2 ring 100 man invitational battle royal last year. Pretty much anyone who wanted could be in it, just for bodies to fill the rings. You should've seen the "wrestlers" that entered. I'm sure these TNA tryout participants would've been on a par with the inbred morons that showed up in Dayton that day.
