-Rumors of Shelly "Ariel" Martinez headed to TNA Wrestling are true.
The former manager of Kevin Thorne on WWE's ECW brand will make her TNA debut at TNA's biggest PPV of the year, Bound For Glory. Shelly Martinez will join Angel Williams, Talia Madison, Amazing Kong, and ODB (formerly Poison in TNA) as the final 5 mystery participants of the 10-Woman Battle Royale at the PPV. Martinez is expected to be a big part of TNA's new women's division. She will not be able to use her "Vampire" gimmick from WWE. TNAWrestlingNews.com has learned that she has a new "punk" look that is sure to get her noticed in TNA.
- Junior Fatu still isn't under contract to TNA,The ball seems to be in his court because TNA is trying to make him a full-timer, and he has yet to fully commit to them. He wanted to use the "Kishi" name he's been using overseas and on indies, but TNA didn't want to risk receiving a nasty letter from WWE's legal department.
- A columnist on TNA's official website wrote a column talking about the upcoming Sting vs. Kurt Angle title match at next month's pay-per-view. The columnist noted that a "big match situation" between the two wrestlers has never happened before: "Without question, the two greatest wrestling superstars to NEVER face off in a big match situation are Kurt Angle and Sting. This collision will finally happen on live on pay-per-view on Sunday night, October 14th at "Bound For Glory" in Atlanta, GA, and Angle's coveted TNA World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line. The match is intriguing on so many levels, and there are so many factors to consider as we all anticipate this monumental happening." A Sting vs. Kurt Angle match, for the Number One contender spot at the next PPV, actually took place on the April 26, 2007 edition of iMPACT!.
TNA even put out a press release for it. The match ended in a no contest. Get on that Bill Banks!
There's going to be a big wrestling convention/PPV show at the Cow Palace in San Francisco during the weekend of October 19. DirecTV, TVN and inDemand will be carrying the PPV. Several of the names being advertised are under contract to TNA, and TNA wrestlers are expressedly prohibited from appearing on non-TNA pay-per-views. The show is advertising Nash & Hall vs. Sid & mystery partner (who is hinted at being Goldberg even though Goldberg has said time and time again that he is likely done with wrestling), Team 3D vs. Steiners, Corino vs. Sandman, Muta vs. Ultimo Dragon, Greg Valentine & Dr. Death vs. Koko B. Ware & Beefcake vs. Kamala & One Man Gang vs. Warlor & Barbarian, Gail Kim vs. Tracy Brooks, Abyss vs. Shark Boy, Rikishi vs. Black Pearl (his cousin), Mil Mascaras vs. Rey Misterio Sr., Luke Hawx & Al Katrazz vs. Orlando Jordan & Kidman, and a match between Vampiro & Vic Grimes.
Fifth row seats are currently available at TicketMaster.com for next month's Bound For Glory pay-per-view in Atlanta.
