because 2x4's are actually that big infact the measurement 2x4 is incorrect ,many people that refer to the 2x4 as a normal sized board were infact its more of a standard 4x8 or 2x8 (i beleive) im in computer aided drafting classes we deal with architecture, carpentry and electrical appliances The measurement 2x4 is indeed correct like triplew pointed out. The 2x4 refers to the height and width of a rough board laying down before planing the sides to make it smoother. Sorry but I know enough people who do/have done carpentry plus having worked in a hardware store myself I know you are blowing smoke out your @$$. As for the Jakks 2x4, that looks about right size wise

It's the same 2x4 they used on CS Hacksaw Jim Duggan - yes it is, and i dont think the wood is too big, its the figures that r too short.
