I rung Jakks tonight (Regarding Classic 16 protos)

HA HA HA plain black pants hiliarous lmao! Well i would love to see these protos as much as anyone on this board considering this series could be one of the best CS yet. Just let Jakks do their work and stop asking about the protos as long as it's going to have the same release date i'm fine with seeing just MOC images.

You do realise that Jakks never release official MOC photos, that those are always taken by retailers who get the figures? So why would a Jakks rep tell you they'll go straight to MOC images?

And we will still see the prototype images on the final packaging anyway, so I cannot understand why Jakks is not releasing promotional images in advance. It serve no purpose at all. If Jakks is concerned about people "bitching" about the figures, they could always just make decent products. Just an idea. A crazy far out idea... but I doubt that has anything to do with it anyway. If Jakks gave a damn about that, they'd just make stuff not suck. It's not like it should surprise them by now that stupid use of parts and poor paint jobs annoy people.

It just seems like Jakks patented "Half Assed Effort" (TM 2007 Jakks Pacific) has now spilled over into the marketing department too. Way to go Jakks! Love the promotion for CS16: "Here is a line-up... it may or may not change... and may or may not come out in October... but one things for sure: We guarantee to half-ass everything!"

Okay, so YOU don't want to know what new figures are coming? Simple, don't look on sites like this then. Problem solved, enjoy the days of old once again.

For the rest of us, I think it's fair to say that we should be getting promotional images of upcoming figures if Jakks wants to try selling this stuff to us. It's a pointless, brain-dead idea to NOT release proto pictures for those who do want them. Free advertising to hype up your product? What's possibly bad about that? The film and music industry spend millions trying to advertise their upcoming product to people. In fact most companies do. So how does Jakks rationalize that not releasing proto pics to advertise their upcoming product to it's most dedicated customers for FREE, is a sensible idea?

I mean, if the final products are garbage, we're not gonna buy them simply because we didn't see proto pics. It'll be no different than when Jakks (often) releases final product worse than proto pics, and we don't buy them. And somewhere they've obviously got the pics sitting there by now, since they need them for the packaging, which has to be printed months in advance. Considering the figures will be released in under a month, the figures obviously exist, so why not take some photos and show the fans? It's just pure stupidity, and no good rational reason exists for not releasing pics.

i enjoy seeing the protos about a month before the figs get released. because then it just gives me somethin to look forward to...the MOCs when they are released. for the most part the protos are accurate. with a few exceptions. and when you think about how many figures come out in a year....we've known about CS 16 for the same amount of time that we've known about RA30....the lineups were released in one big post. they release protos based on the release dates of figures. obviously RA30 will be out in about a month...just like them all. we JUST got CS15...i wouldnt be surprised to see 16 in about mid november. so maybe another week or so and we'll get the protos...then 3 weeks til MOC. its a system...it makes sense, and it all works.
