Lots of people I know say wrestlings stupid and stuff, but then i got another group of friends/family who like it. For the people say its stupid I just tell them Its what I like and what i find entertaining.

Whenever someone tells me stuff like that, I tell them "Did I ask you for your opinion?" Usually shuts them up. If not, then I tell them that it's my hobby, and everyone is entitled to a hobby. If they go further, that's when you tell 'em to f off.

I don't get harrassed at all. In fact, I got one of my friends to watch it.  She doesn't anymore though, but she absolutely loved Edge. |

I have no problem being a fan, I have been for over 25 years. I haven't watched any new stuff (RAW/Smackdown/TNA) in about 3 or 4 years. I have caught a bit of ECW and found it good although a bit rushed.
I am delighted with what WWE has been doing on DVD and bringing out some great stuff from the past, I watch tons of older dvd's and allot of whats on 24/7
Benoit could make it more difficult, but in my situation (a "classic wrestling" fan) I can avoid most of it. Heck, I haven't seen him wrestle since Wrestlemania 20 and as far as I'm concerned wrestling in its most recent incarnation can just dry up and go away, I would much prefer if it just got better though, less soap opera, more wrestling.
The men in tights groping each other thing is just a ridiculous and juvenile argument from people too unintelligent to put what bothers them about wrestling into coherent words. That is usually their issue, and not mine as a fan.
Everybody has pastimes that someone else might find ridiculous. One of my best friends watches Desperate Housewives religiously and has the DVD's, I don't get it, but I don't have to be an ass about it.

I just tell people that their favourite television shows are no different to wrestling. They both are storylined and have actors, but I don't go around bashing someone from liking a particular show.

They tell me "You do know it's fake, right?" and I always say in the most sarcastic voice "No! Really? I could not have figured that one out!"

I dobut you're be hearing that, because stuff liek this happens else where. Steroids in pro sports? Check. Murderers? Check. I can just bang out a list of gus off the top of my head.

Anncy Grace pissed me off last night, the way she insulted Wrestling What did she say? *Automatically assumed (Ass of u and me!) steroids. *Called it Dubya Dubya E *Asked why there was a tribute for a guy who killed his wife even though the facts were not known at that time. *Implied pretty much all wrestlers used "juice". *Was glad to hear there would be no more tributes to Benoit. She has to be the biggest hick in the world. |

Being A Wrestling Fan is underrated. Sometimes I've found myself wanted to tell people that I am a fan and sometimes I've found myself wanting to hide before I embarass myself. It can be pretty tricky to be a fan

alot of kids in my school like wrestling so i dont get made fun of that much but some kids are like you know wrestlings fake then i precede to rko the and just walk away. but seriously i just say so is every other show on tv even reality shows are occasionaly scripted.

try living with one. my dad hates wrestling to the max. he thinks me buying PPV's are a waste of money and run up the bill. i am able to shut him up with ease beacause i have comebacks for whatever he says.
i was shocked one time this year in school tho. one of my friends brought an EGM mag to lunch, and i flipped thro it and found an article on SVR07 (possibly 08). one friend said "your reading the one about wrestling? you like that? and my other friend, who is usually the one who teases me alot at lunch said "ya him and jake (a different friend) watch it and play it.(he didnt say it in a put down way, he said it defensivly which chocked me because i woulda pictured him of saying something) but he must know that people have their own interests because he likes lord of the rings and i dont, and i dont say nothin. if he did i woulda bashed him soo hard for liking LOTR.
its hard sometimes but only if u dont have a comeback

i couldnt care less what ppl tell me about wrestling most of my friends dont watch wrestling and they always tell me that im a d****** for watching it but i say just because u guys dont like it doesnt mean i have to hate it and my mum always tells me thats so fake this is so fake and i say i dont care its just entertainment.

Im not really embarressed to say im a wrestling fan, hell it's the thing I enjoy and it's a big part of my life.
Although there are some things that do make me groan about it.

One of my friends kept saying to me "It's so fake and rigged, I'd rather watch golf" and now he's a WWE supporter asking me about wrestling history coz he only got into it last year. "Where the hell have I been? What was I on about?" and now his favourite is Batista the no good wrestler.
