Im not trying to start anything Im just stating something.
But with the recent death of Benoit and the circumstances that it occured, It has seemed like there was a sudden rise in the popularity of Guerrero. Now this seems to have only come since the Benoit death and is really just a way to have a shot at Benoit rather than remember and pay tribute to Guerrero, which is actually seemingly quite insulting to him since the biggest support comes from a time when his best friend commited those acts.
Just something that I have thought of why the sudden support for him? It doesn't really seem right.

I haven't watched since Eddie died.
The product sucks and he was the last highlight. Hopefully it'll pick up at some point.

The reason I have Eddie in my sig is because yesterday, after the whole Benoit thing, I decided to pop in my tapes of the tribute show to Eddie, and remember how much entertainment he really did bring to the sport of pro wrestling.

Eddie had a huge fan following before this happened, hell I miss Eddie alot. Yeah I know he had a huge following, that's not what I was trying to get at, and yeah I really enjoyed Eddie's work alot and Im not trying to start anything. It's just I've now seen many sigs of Eddie and him being referenced as favorites that I wouldn't expect from before the Benoit fiasco occured. So it seems just now that people are having shots at Benoit moreso rather than paying tribute to Eddie

Well, in a way, I am going to fess up and say that is a small reason why. I have so much rage for Benoit right now, I destroyed his RAW tribute tape I recorded, and decided to watch Eddie's tribute shows, and people saying heart felt messages about a man who cherished his family more than anything. And by watching that, I realised just how much I loved the guy and miss him to this day.

OK fair enough, if that's the real reason I can understand that. It's just I've seen people have sigs "there's only 1 champ in heaven" etc. which definantely seems like they are having shots at Benoit rather than paying tribute to Eddie which it should be. Also would Eddie be seen under the same light if he did die in that crash when he was under the influence and basically he had taken a path where he was definantely seperate from his family. Again not trying to start anything, I enjoyed Eddie's work, its just something I noticed and wanted to express to find an answer.

If he had died, he most likely would of been seen as someone who destroyed his own life and wasted it... like many talented wrestlers over the years sadly. However he came back from that. He beat his addictions, he showed his family he loved them and then worked hard to prove himself to everyone. Dieing from drink driving would still of been better then what Benoit has apparently done though. To kill your wife takes a murderer, to kill your child takes a monster.

The reason I have soooooo much respect for Eddie Guerrero, the man, is because he cleaned himself up, which is one of the hardest things you would have to go through in your life. If he had died while under the influence, I would be so ashamed of him, and let down. But, murdering your wife and child - by torturing them by suffocation, is in a whole different ball park in my view.

I was never trying to compare what Benoit with what Eddie did. Benoit was a disgusting act and is really incomprehensible. Whilst what Eddie did was an act that almost cost him his life, whilst at a time when I believe he and Vicki were at hard times and the kids may of seen Eddie as something different other than dad.
But I do respect Eddie for the way he fought back and worked really hard to win back respect, which he did. I just think if tribute is to be paid to him it should be under a circumstance that is not having a shot at someone else and rather just paying tribute to the great wrestler and person.

And by watching that, I realised just how much I loved the guy and miss him to this day. I did the same thing and feel the same way that you do. I recorded over the Benoit tribute after I found out what he did because there is no way that I could ever bear to watch it again. On Monday night I couldn't even sleep because Benoit is all I could think about, but ever since I found out what he did, I tried my best just to stop thinking of him (besides the news). What he did was one of the most disgraceful things I've ever heard of and I just want nothing to do with him. I even feel like just throwing away my Benoit action figure, but so far I've managed to keep it. Yesterday I to watched the Eddie tribute show and I realized how much everyone, including myself, really loved him and what a great entertainer he was. The man loved the business, the fans and his family and that's the type of person you pay tribute to. That's the type of person that will be missed and that's the type of person that will not be forgotten. Even though I don't have him in my sig, I miss Eddie a whole lot right now and wish he was still here.

I've been an Eddie Guerrero fan for the longest time. When I found out he passed away, I cried. His death really shook me up. I had a sig dedicated to him from when he died all the away to April of this year. I decided that it was time for me to move on, so I changed sigs.
The Benoit Family tragedy has affected many of us. When I heard about the deaths of the Benoit Family, it brought me back to when Eddie died, so I put up a sig dedicated to both Chris and Eddie. I was so devastated about it. Then as I got more and more details, I felt absolutely disgusted.
I did what WWE is now doing and I erased Chris Benoit. I left the Eddie sig because he was a true role model. Granted, Eddie made mistakes but he learned from them, owned up to them, and overcame them. He changed his life around. If I'm going to have a tribute sig, it's going to be of somebody who I'm proud to look up to.
There's nothing wrong about having a Benoit sig. Everybody is entitled to how they feel. As for me, I can't have a Benoit sig.

I always liked Eddie. Not on a massive level, but I always enjoyed watching him whether he was heel or face. I didn't realize how much he really contributed to the show untill he passed away. I really miss watching him cut promo's and see him wrestle on Smackdown!. He really was a highlight.

Well there's two reasons really. 1) When a wrestler dies, it brings back memories of other wrestlers. People haven't necessarily forgotten about him, but Benoit was a good friend of his and so when people think of Benoit, it triggers the memories of Eddie also. 2) When put into perspective, we all really feel sympathetic towards Eddie. He died from steroids (when let's face it, he wasn't the only user of it, and also he had quit a long time before he died.. or so I read). So whilst one great man died from his fairly bad past catching up with him, another died by murdering his family. In a way, it shows how both ended up with the same fate when one did something SO much worse.

I miss Eddie a lot. I was taking a break from wrestling when he died and it still hit me hard.
