That is the second version. The original that was used in Tough Enough was by Hoshal.
Just search for "Hoshal WWE Maven."

It's Tattoo by Big Mother Thruster.
I can see my fantasy I'm so consumed in bed What I see takes over me I'm blind beyond repair It takes a hold of me so tight a breed that does not give And when she's done she throws me out like junk left in a shelf
Yeah I wanna have the right I wanna feel the night Around the stars Wanna take a flight Get back on my sights Around the stars

I love the confusion with Hoshal. I believe Hoshal was the up-loader of the song. And yes it is Big Mother Thruster AKA Mercy Drive, dunno why they redid the song.

I asked Mercy Drive themselves a while back what the deal was and it was due to a change in the band's line-up, hence the change from Big Mother Thruster then to big empty (i think) then finally to Mercy Drive.

It's an awesome theme no matter what. And, in my opinion, I think WWE should bring Maven back.

I think he was backstage at a show sometime since his release aswell, or he may of even had another try-out match. Either way, I wish they offered him another contract. I never did get why WWE released people like Maven. They were fine backstage, worked real hard and was an all round great addition to the roster. Much like 50% of the people they fired.

Maven didn't have this many fans when he was employed.

The original was "Tattoo (Around the Stars)" by Mercy Drive (although I think they were still Big Mother Thruster back then). Later on they redid the song, with newer lyrics, under the title of "Memory", which was released on their self-titled album. Maven was released before he was ever able to use "Memory" for his theme, though.
