ya but........the vertabreaker is pretty darn safe. No wrestling move is pretty safe, they all ahve there own dangers. Even a simple sleeper can be fatal if done incorrectly. |

I gave someone a cutter type move on a trampoline match once and he broke the skin on his toe and bled profusley. I would still love to know how that happened.

What's his point? If someone really really really sucks at wrestling then they just may get hurt? Its a stupid point. I can get injured walking but I still consider walking safe.

I don't even think I ever saw that move in WWE. Go on YouTube and search for Hurricane vs. AJ Styles. Or better yet, I did it for you. Hurricane also used it to beat Stevie Richards on Heat right before No Mercy 2002. |

its was banned the same reason the piledriver was banned,was the piledriver bannded Your writing should be bannded. You are comparing a high impact move, where a guy is dropped ON HIS HEAD, with both arms tied up, while BEHIND somebody's back, to a sleeper hold. The ONLY way a sleeper hold could ever hurt someone is INTENTIONALLY. A vertebreaker could injure anybody on any day of the week. It is an extremely high risk maneuver where both the giver and the receiver have extremely limited ability to protect the receiver. I don't blame the WWE for banning it, and I wouldn't take one in a million years, I don't care WHO was giving it to me. |

I think the last time it was used was on heat when Hurricane worked someone in like, 2003, I forget.

In my friends backyard wrestling fed, I always take vertebreakers easy, but yeah I can understand them banning it.

Helms would release the person before the bump so that they'd land on there upper back/shoulder area. He did it redic safe. Homicides version of it involves a neck bump, and anyone has yet to get hurt from it either.

No I was making a point, he said something along the lines of the move beign safe, and in truth there is no such thing as a safe move. I was making the point that even somethins as simple and seemingly harmless as a sleeper hold could be dangerous. I don't know if you've ever put someone in a sleeper hodl for real, but I've purposely choked out a kid with it and it was actaully surprisingly easy, now imagine if you didn't know your limitations. |

But for some clarification, on the Best Wrestlers of th 80's DVD, Jerry Lawler said the move was banned by multiple athletic boards(could be kayfabe, not sure) He used it in his first match with Kaufman and was DQ'd, then he explained it. |

The Althletic boards thing is kayfabe to not make WWE look like vaginas. Indies use then and variations of it all the time. There is a state athletic commision that overseas any fed or sport. WWE doesn't have its own athletic commision. So that's that.

The vertebreaker is as dangerous as a snapmare or a body slam.  it up, people are going to get hurt. But if you up an elbow drop, people are going to get hurt. |

They banned it cus guys like Batista and cena dont know how to sell and do a move correctly.
