Chris Kay, who was a referee on SmackDown, was fired due to repeated drug test failures.
He came up through OVW, made his debut on Raw in 2004, then moved to SmackDown in 2005. He was recently under a 60 day suspension due to a drug test failure.

Exactly. Plus, some of you guys make it sound like referees aren't even in good shape or anything. These guys work out and train on a daily basis, just like wrestlers. Maybe their routine isn't as strict, but a lot of referees are former wrestlers who never made it into the business. |

Funny story about this guy
At my first OVW event I went to, he was the ref in the main event. About half way through the match, me and my dad notice some kinds of liwuid flying through the air in the ring out of the corner of our eyes. I assumed it was a soda or something that someone threw into the ring, but then we all realized that this ref was puking all over the ring. He eventually just went over to a corner turnbuckle and started doing it into his hand and putting it on the canvas. It was hilarious
I wonder if the vomiting had anything to do with his now apparent problems?
