This is a Blog I wrote about the good ole days of the attitude era on which majority of this forum grew up with.
Before there was Lita, there was Stephanie. Before there was Cade and Murdoch and Deuce and Domino, there was Edge and Christian and the Dudley Boyz. Before there was John Cena and Batista, there was the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Wrestling nowadays is nothing like it used to be. Nowadays we have a champion that can't wrestle, women who have no skills what so ever and are hired for their looks, and we have cheep rip offs of the real DX and ECW. Wrestling was good when we had The Rock and Austin putting on classic after classic at WM 15, and 17, when we had the greatest tag team feud, in my opinion, between the Dudley Boyz, the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian. Back when women's wrestling actually meant something. We had Jacqueline, Molly Holly, Ivory, and Sable. Now we have Melina, Ashley, Kelly Kelly, Layla and Brooke. Yes they are nice looking women but that is exactly why they are hired. Vince doesn't care about talent or mic skills, he cares about boob jobs and plastic looks. Another example is tag team wrestling. We saw some of the greatest tag team wrestling during the attitude era. In Today's era, we do have talented tag teams, but they are totally misused and not put to their full potential. We could have classic matches between Cade and Murdoch, the World's Greatest Tag Team, and the Hooliganz . But they don't take tag team wrestling as seriously as they used to. And we look at the current main event scene. We had some of the greatest wrestlers ever in the Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Mankind. Now in today's era they have Batista, John Cena and Bobby Lashley. We have Cena with his 5 moves of doom and his attempt to be like the Rock on the mic. We have Batista and his constantly roided up muscles, and Lashley with his horrible mic skills and poor wrestling talent.
As much as this generation of kids(10-12) hate to admit it, Wrestling is not what it used to be, and never will.

Um that wasn't the best era. The best one would probably be consider Hulk Hogans 80s run or WWE attitude era. Original DX, (HBK, Jobber HHH, Chyna) Devil Worshiping Taker.

A champion that can't wrestle? I stopped reading after that...
John Cena is the best professional in the world today. Pro wrestling isn't being a technical god, being able to have 1,000 moves in your arsenal and using them all in a one hour match. Pro wrestling is connecting with the fans, getting a reaction from your big moves. Which is what Cena does better than anybody. And on the mic, the majority of the fans hang on every word that comes out of his mouth. Cena is a huge star, the biggest since The Rock, and he aint going anywhere.

They both were great wrestlers during the Attitude Era.

"Before there was Lita, there was Stephanie"? They both were great wrestlers during the Attitude Era. I didn't mean it that way, I actually meant it in the hoe type deal with Jericho calling Stephanie a hoe before Lita was called a hoe. Reason I put that in was because sex was one of the main points of the Attitude Era.

Honestly most recent Cena matches Ive sene have had a majority of the audience do the boo/cheer thing against him. And sometimes you hear the audience chant "Cena sucks" and the kids in the audience chant " lets go Cena." Not trying to knock the guy but people are starting to tire of him. He may not be going anywhere, but changes will eventually be made.

Ummm, I did write about the Attitude Era? You are talking about the 2000+ era when The Rock, Austin, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Undertaker was carrying the company. Attitude era didn't have dudlelys and Christian and Edge weren't popular and was with gangrel at one point.

I was talking the entire attitude era, 97-02.

I'd watch Cena over "Choppy-choppy pee-pee" any day. And wrestling existed before 1997.

I agree with most of what you have to say in this argument, but the fact is, those days are gone, and no matter how much we hate to admit it, there will never be another Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin ever again. We have to look to the future now.
And as for Women wrestlers.. You're just listing the crapty ones. We've got a lot of talented women that have great looks, as well. Victoria, Mickie James, Melina, Beth Pheonix, Michelle McCool, and Candice Michelle, who might not be the best now, but not everyone is Trish Stratus level when they first start out. Trish's style of wrestling was "cat" like with hair pulling and all that crap when she came to the WWE and fueded with Stephanie and what not.. now she is the greatest Women's champion of all-time.
If you guys complain NOW, I can't wait to see how you react in a few years when all of your favorites are gone/about to leave, like Shawn Michaels, Triple H (possibly), Ric Flair, Undertaker, Kane...

The attitude era, for the most part, sucked just as much as today's does.

Stephanie's in no way better than Lita, if that's what you were trying to imply. And Vince cares just as much if not more about TnA in the Attitude era than he does now.
