OK this has been bothering me for a few weeks now -
what is the difference between a Hardcore Match, a Street Fight, and a Bunkhouse Brawl?
other than the names, like the rules i mean. Is there any difference?

i swore i heard once that a street fight could only end in a pinfall in the ring, as ridiculous as that is

there is a difference.
hardcore/falls count anywhere/extreme rules are all no dq and no rope break, pins and submissions count anywhere
street fight is no dq and no rope break, but decision MUST take place in the ring.... for who knows what reason.
and a bunkhouse brawl is no dq.... and a cowbell and some form of rope must be utilized as a weapon

In WCW there were new hardcore rules issued a few years before it closed down. The match would start in the ring and it would also have to end in the ring as well. Pinfalls and submissions wouldn't count outside the ring. But in WWE I'm almost certain that there is no difference in any of those matches.

What's the difference between these 4 though:
No Holds Barred Match, Street Fight, Non-Sanctioned Match and a No DQ Match?
I think it's just a case of making the Show not sound so repetitive. If they kept booking 'Street Fights' every week it would become boring, which is why they rename it everytime to keep the Ratings going.

^^^ lol so did i.
but some matches do have things special to them. like most of the time, hardcore matches, street fights, stay in the ring, and just go to the outside of the ring. but in matches like falls count anywhere, they spill out into the crowd, go backstage, go to the entrance, and dont have to end in the ring.
a non-sanctioned match has proven to be the most hardcore matches ever. so brutal the company makes the wrestlers sign and waive the company of being responsible for injuries or whatever happens, and its just an all out fight. Which really is just scripted, and WWE is responsible for whatever happens.
I really dont know what a No Holds Barred match is, like whats different from hardcore matches, but No Holds Barred matches ussually include interferance.
Street fight is just another name for a hardcore match. But ussually wrestling moves arent used and its mostly weapons and punches. Unlike Hardcore matches which use both wrestling moves, and weapons.
No DQ match's are ussually just regular matches and weapons dont get involved until the end. Usually a steel chair. or outside interference, followed by the King's "Its all legal! its a No DQ Match!"
i didnt notice i knew that stuff before lol

They are all the same except for a Non-Sanctioned Match, which is bascily the same as the others except it is not under contract with the company. That's just bullcrap for a storyline. So, yeah, they're all the same.

No Holds Barred, as the name implies, actually came from matches where you could use choke holds and stuff to gain a victory.
