Seriously, even the biggest WWE marks know WWE's logic likes windows. That said I think an aggressive argument can be made on who WWE has dropped the ball on in the past or present.
So yeah, to get it started I gotta say Hassan and Daivari were a hot commodity. Hassan had decent mic skills and in the ring he carried himself well. He wasn't a musclehead or nothing like that.
While a case can also be made that Khosrow Daivari was a sign of the times as one of the few male managers of this era. His screaming in farsi was beyond unique.
The sad thing is WWE was going for controversy but not backlash and they dropped the ball on something in the 80's would have sold shows in advance just to see those two get their asses handed to him.
Feel free to argue the person mentioned beforehand but also include your own scenarios of WWF/E dropping the ball in one way or another.

To me WWE dropped the ball a few years ago... IMO they've gotten lazy.. but I'm not looking to start a debate.

Rob Van Dam comes to mind..
In 2006 it was amazing when he was WWE Champion, but he dropped his own ball w/ Sabu.
I'm talking about 2001-2006, when RVD debuted he was SO over. He sold tons of merch and he had a huge following. Maybe he needed a manger on the mic? (Heyman)

i definily agree with RVD, in both cases mentioned above. he messed up, made some poor choices and dealt with the consequenses...they kinda buried him after that.....and the way he left the company was a disgrace.

The Hassan thing really wasn't the WWE's fault. He was just so controversial no network really wanted him on their show.

WWE is dropping the ball with Cena.... Lashley ..... and ECW..... I mean Cena not turning Cena Heel when he was being booed out of the building was a dumb mistake... i just don't buy the well he sales a ton of Merchandise... well I last time i checked there was a man by the name of Hulk Hogan that turned heel in 96 and still sold a ton of merch... Vince always says he gives the fans what they want but that not entirely true... Lashley is just horrible IMO... doesn't deserve his spot at all.. Fans will eventually turn on him too... he is just not belivable, with his "oh i'm so mad bug eyes"... and as far as ECW, i don't think i even need to explain....

the WWE dropped the ball with Mr. Perfect in 2002. THey could have done Angle vs Perfect at WM 18 but Angle got Kane and Perfect got the Godfather on HEAT

You think that would have been good, I think Angle could have had some really good matches with the likes of Davey Boy Smith. That man was put in hardcore matches when he easily could have lit up the IC or Heavyweight title scene. As for Hassan being to controversial. I don't believe it. Whether you wanna use Shiek for an example, or anything else. Nothing is to controversial in Vinnie McMahon Land
