Alright, I kind of laid off wrestling for a while, and after borwsing through Pay-Per-View results I found out that all the PPVs were cross-branded? When did this happen? This ruins Survivor Series pretty much, makes it look like "just another PPV".
Sorry if a topic was already posted.. : l

Started at Backlash. Makes the PPVs a lot better IMO, although there is somewhat of a Cena/Batista overkill because of it.

The cross-branding is like a double-edged sword, you have more storylines that people want to see which means the PPV's will sell ore. However, since all the titles are not contended (like cruiserweight, either tag titles, U.S., and IC) those superstars become less exposed and less popular.

I see it like a brand split, it just changes that you have to pay to see it

It was really hard to get excited for brand-exclusive PPVs because there was usually no more than 2 exciting matches on the card. I mean the bottom of the card usually had jobbers. Now the PPVs just feel bigger, better, and almost worth the money. A few guys get underexposure because of it( mostly the tag teams), and a few guys get overexposure( Cena winning 6 title matches since WM, and Batista appearing in 6), but overall its for the better.

I dont really like it because all the rivalrys that are going on in each brand cant be played at 1 ppv because it is cross branded and they have no more space for matches. Why is their never and inter-promotional match at the cross branded ppvs now insept wrestlemania and survivor series?

It's really not hard to do brand-only PPV's. You just have to have the right feuds.
Like say for a Raw PPV, you could have:
Cena vs. Orton HHH vs. Booker Umaga vs. Kennedy vs. Carlito TWGTT vs. Cody & partner of his choice Cryme Tyme vs. Cade & Murdoch Candice vs. any diva Snitsky vs. Jeff Hardy
I mean I know that the tri-branded PPV's look better on paper, but I think it's more important for all feuds to get on PPV.

The only thing they need to do is allow Smackdown/ECW to main event a PPV once in a while. ECW is understandable, but Smackdown should have main evented at least one PPV by now. Vengeance would have been a great one.
