Wrestlers who use names that seem like they are real.
It seems like from 1998 on it's illegal to have a wrestler have a "character" name such as the Undertaker or Kane or even Hulk Hogan. Hell even in the 80's if you had a realistic name such as "Randy Savage" you still had to have a nickname like the "Macho Man"
I miss those days.
It seems like the closest we are to that now is CM Punk and Edge.
Bottom line, I wish there were more gimmick names in professional wrestling right now.

What's worse is people that use first and last names aren't they're real names either. Bobby Lashley's first name is Franklin for example.

Because gimmick names is laughable to create these days. What's so different? Are you saying Mankind couldn't get over nowadays? Please. Wrestling is supposed to be over the top. Not John Q. Wrestler fights James L. Grappler.

Yeah, it can be annoying. I don't really like how any of the Divas have a cool name like Sable or Chyna anymore either. It seems like almost all of them have these trampy sounding first and last names.

If Bobby Lashley went by Franklin...I would cheer for him just for that fact.

They didn't turn their gimmick into a joke.

I think it's the worst with names like John Morrison or Kenny Dykstra, where the WWE actually expects us to believe those are their real birth names. It's just insulting with stuff like that...
I think the lack of "gimmick names" so to speak is also attributed to the fact that the WWE can't build characters in general.

Wrestling will be and always has been over the top, regardless of what year the calendar shows.

And wrestling is not over the top. Storylines from WWE tend to be stupid and over the top, but that has nothing to do with wrestling itself.
