Chris Benoit obviously had nothing to do with anything.

I don't understand what the WWE is doing, wrestling seems pretty simple. When I was a kid (29 now) I watched WCW, why?, because Flair was the champ, and every week I would watch to hopefully see Flair get beat up or lose his belt. I watched every Clash of the Champions because I wanted to see Flair lose. In the late 90's, I watched as HHH would beat everyone up, cheat, and do whatever it took to hold onto the belt, and I watched, because I wanted to see him lose.
Now we have Cena as the champ, the good guy that all the kids love but all the adults pretty much hate. What happens, people stop watching because Cena is old, he overcomes all the odds, as a wrestling fan I don't want to see that. I want to see the bad guy cheat, steal, have his cronies help out, make me hate him, and have the good guy chasing. Make a 9 month feud with the most hated guy on your roster the champ and have Cena team up with Lashley or whoever to chase him and go after the belt, and all the fans will come back.
I keep seeing on here that Cena sells so they have to keep him as champ. Do you people not think Cena will sell as the #1 guy going after the belt, it won't change anything other than get more people interested in seeing when the bad guy will lose. That is the equation for good wrestling shows, bad guys on top, good guys trying to overcome the odds of 3 on 1 matches for the title!

The biggest thing that can be done to draw ratings...Bring in The Rock, Stone Cold, Mick Foley, Hulk Hogan, Brock Lesnar, or Bret Hart. Something that drastic will draw big...
Something else that is also unrealistic...That would draw big...Is if someone who works for TNA showed up in WWE...But someone BIG...Like Jeff Jarrett

It's like the old W.W.F. vs. W.C.W. days in which you didn't know who was going to jump ship next. If we could see more of that, it would be awesome. Just as long as they can keep it quiet from the internet, which is really hard to do these days.

I usually agree with most of your posts i read on here. But I must say.. Dudleys, Christian, Sting or NAO would bring more ratings then Samoa Joe..

Joe would just be put in a tag team with Umaga and be a headshrinkers knockoff.

1. End the god damn brand extension. 2. crap on ECW and rape them of all the good talent and bring them to the main roster. 3. Fire worthless people like Snitsky, Khali, Marella, etc. 4. Try to bring people like Angle, Rock, Jericho, Lesnar back. 5. Be more sensible, overall.
There you go, Eric's 5 step plan to fixing the WWE's crap.

To be honest, it has nothing to do with the ratings in the Rock 'N Wrestling Era, or the Attitude Era, or the InVasion Era, or whatever. What matters is that the WWE has lost stock and ratings, bottom line. Thats not good for business.

I say give Cena one more year as champ, that would definitely improve things. The fact that you're serious is quite saddening.

If Vince doesn't change his ways, then I hope the bad news keeps on coming. Remember when Paul Heyman was booking smackdown and ratings went up? Now normally, a writer who is helping raise the ratings is kept on board, but when the man in charge has one of the biggest egos in the world, is stubborn, senile, and couldn't write a wrestling show to save his life(according to Vince Russo, if you gave Vince a blank sheet of paper, he just can't write a wrestling show), this is what you get!

The storylines have to be compelling and they need to create a new star that captures a big audience like Austin in the 90s and Hogan in the 80s.
