Lordsofpain:
WRESTLING legend Hulk Hogan has lashed out at the industry which made him a megastar.
And he has demanded an end to the decades-long cover-up of steroid abuse in the sport.
Hogan, 54, took the muscle-enhancing drugs almost daily for 16 years during his career and says he can spot a user a mile off.
With more than 100 grapplers dying before the age of 50 in the last decade, he is begging others to face up to the crisis.
The Sun has been leading an anti-steroid abuse campaign since wrestler Chris Benoit murdered his wife and seven-year-old son before committing suicide in June.
A handful of former stars have already spoken out and prompted US politicians to start investigating the industry.
But many in the WWE, the world's biggest fight franchise, deny there is a problem and have blasted their ex-colleagues as bitter failures who haven't wrestled in years.
They cannot same the same about Hogan, wrestling's equivalent of Pele or Muhammad Ali who was fighting for them just 12 months ago.
In an exclusive Sun interview, he said: "Are steroids a problem in wrestling? Oh God yeah. They have always been a part of the business. It's prevalent.
"But there's not some big mystery to it. Just open your eyes and it's there. You can look at a wrestler and pretty much tell.
"They will be above their weight range, with these big veins. My body weight is around 285lb, depending on how much junk I eat. Even if I was 25 and clean, I could probably only carry 300lb.
"Yet when I was wrestling I weighed anywhere between 320 and 340lb, because my body was full of water weight.
"My face was puffy, my arms were so bulky I couldn't touch my shoulders. You could take one look at me and know I was on something.

Well that's very interesting.
If Hogan becomes more political about this and as the Babe Ruth of wrestling tries to leave it in a better state because of this I guess you gotta respect that much of him.

How exactly is he "lashing out at wrestling"? All I took from that article is that Hogan confirming what most of us already knew: steroids play a major role in professional wrestling.
Hulk Hogan is the largest name in the history of wrestling. If he comes out and says steroids are a problem and it should be investigated, maybe there's a chance congress will listen to him. What I took from the article is that he doesn't want to see any other guys die at a young age because of steroid use. Hogan knows better than anybody about what goes on behind the scenes.
Some of you guys look to get all over Hogan's ass about ANYTHING he says.

I hate to say it but without the roids, we wouldn't have some of the greatest moments that we all love and cherish.

and Hogan would be ....what without wrestling? Holding people down at Arby's. Hogan doesn't care now since he has a show on VH1 that he thinks made him more of a household name than wrestling. And he has that ing George Foreman Grill that he stole and wrote HULKAMANIA on to sell on QVC. Wrestling gave him lame grill and energy drink sponsorships, gave his daughter shitty singing lessons, gave his son $80,000 cars to crash, and gave his wife huge cans and plastic surgery to keep her looking less of a hag than she already does.

I agree with RK-NO. What exactly did Hogan say in that article that makes him "lash out at wrestling?" I mean, are most of you reading the same article or just the members of the IWC that love trashing and bashing Hogan no matter what he does because its the cool thing to do or because he doesn't fit your mold of what a wrestler should be? Or is it because he's violated some unwritten/sacred code that he's not suppose to speak about the industry?
I don't know what most of you are looking at but all I got from this piece was Hogan confirming what most of us fans knew in that he took steroids during his career (as did most wrestlers, including Bret Hart), that their is a steroid problem in wrestling and you can tell by looking at certain guys (Steiner, Tista, etc.) that they are using.
Call me blind but where is the lashing out at? Can someone please explain it to me like I'm a 5-year old?

A couple of you guys have it right . . . . the rest just bitch about Hogan like YOU would actually know more about the industry than he does. The truth can be a bitter f'n pill . . . .

And why cant he lash out at it? So what, it made him a star and he was a big part of the company, doesn’t mean he has to like what it is now or that he has to like everything that went on there.
I like this planet, but doesn’t mean I like everyone in t it, how its always handled or they way everything is run, etc.
