I love Sandman, but his release won't hurt the company in any way, and it certainly doesn't come as a suprise. It's been a long time coming. Maybe he'll have more success with TNA?

Sandman was released for being under the influence on raw monday. He was already warned about drinking (he even lost the privelage of using it for his entrance), So what does the goof do? he decides to get "buzzed" before his match monday night and nearly cripples himself and santino with the stupid over the top to the floor body block and he also messed up a few simple "spots" in the ring so once he returned to the back he was pulled aside and basically fired on the spot for being under the influence. The wwe has enough heat right now the last thing they need is a performer crippling someone because they were in the ring under the influence (unless your steve austin and then it's ok I guess) . I think it was stupid on sandmans part (the guy is at the building for a few hours before the show and he can't manage to stay sober atleast until after his tv time? but I guess it's true, bad habits are hard to break. He may not be a good "wrestler" but he is/was entertaining.

Not surprised by his release to be honest. Seems like WWE doesn't have a high priority on keeping ECW originals. They were brought in to put over the new ECW brand and now since that is done, their services are no longer required. Dumb thinking on WWE's part.

Well more beer for him now cause he has the time. But now he's going to have to find some other way to pay for it.

I hope WWE still keeps him in SvsR 08. They could make him a legend on the game insted of a regular roster.

as if the SVR 2008 roster wasn't bad enough. When it was first announced (LAST WEEK) only 3 guys were no longer under contract. Two of which had just barely been released a day earlier. (JTG & Shad). Now a week later, we've lost Sandman and possibly King Booker & Ric Flair. I swear it's like every year they do this on purpose to keep the roster as outdated as they possibly can.

Me I Hate WWE So Damn Much!! No, you don't. I know you don't. And Sandman was a waste of roster space. He served no purpose at all. I, for one am glad WWE is trimming the fat. It makes way for younger, and better wrestlers to come through (Burchill, Smith, Hart).

WWE Has only 4 Originals Left Dreamer, Balls, Nunzio and Richards but we all expected this to happen i kinda knew Dreamer would never leave if ECW went down hill like it is and i knew Richards wouldnt along with Nunzio, i would be suprised if Balls doesnt get the sack before the year is over TBH

i'm really surprised he wasn't released sooner. people may have loved him in the old ecw, but he's beyond washed up now and there was no place for him.
