I am trying to book out our trip to NYC for the Rumble and need some advice on hotels. Any good suggestions on ones that are close to the Garden? Also does anyone know what hotel some of them stay at when doing show at the garden?

Take it from me even if you get close to the garden if your driving in NYC you wont get to the garden on time, your better off walking but here are some hotels
New York's Hotel Pennsylvania - 402 7th Ave.
Howard Johnson @ Penn Station - 215 W. 34th Street
Tribeca Grand Hotel - 2 Avenue Of The Americas
Americana Inn - 69 West 38 Th Street

New York's Hotel Pennsylvania - 402 7th Ave. The Penn is right across from the garden. Literally across the street from it. It's where I stayed for both ECW ONS and RAW/SNME. It's pricey but any hotel in the area will be.

Why would you start booking a trip this far in advance? You don't even know if you'll be able to get tickets yet or not...

im a baseball fan and frequent the Grand Hyatt right outside Grand Central to get autographs. I went one time and forgot Raw was at the Garden and was able to meet Ric Flair,Batista,Randy Orton and Maven

It's a great idea to book this far ahead. When the hotels find out that there is a large event at the Garden, they'll jack up their prices.
I booked about 4 months ahead for Wrestlemania and when I phoned to confirm 2 weeks before, they couldn't believe the rate because it had bumped up $75 per night.
If you're looking for cheap accomodations, Grand Union and Hotel Penn are two cheap decent hotels very close to the Garden.

Try to find a hotel that isn't right in midtown. The Pennsylvania is good but it's going to be very expensive as it is right in the middle of things. Remember, everything in New York is just a short subway ride away. Even if your hotel were to be in the 70's - 80's, thats only a 15 min ride to MSG. If you need help with subways, just drop me a pm.
