This is directly from my MySpace blog so that's why somethings are explained. For the people that don't understand what I'm referring to. Enjoy!
Tonight was the best night ever! I met Chris Jericho! Hell, I can't even describe the awesomeness of what went down tonight so I'll give you what I guess you could call a "play by play" of the night. Everything started around 6:20pm. That's when we finally left the house and began our hour or so trek towards the Walt Disney World Resort area. That was an experience in and of itself. See my brother and I, being such "MARKS" as we are, listened to wrestling music the entire drive. And as if that wasn't enough, we hit some heavy congestion, and that's where the fun went to the next level! We had the music turned up and the windows down and I'm sure we got a look or two from people who were just like, "What the !?" At one point I had on Hulk Hogan's 1980's theme and I went into Hulk impersonation mode. Air guitar and all! Also during that insanity Owen Hart's theme came on and my brother yelled, "I'm not a nugget," out the window. I was cracking up so hard. For those of you that don't know, Owen use to say that all the time. Here is a little info from Wikipedia on the subject,
"Four weeks after WrestleMania, during a tag team match with Ken Shamrock against D'Lo Brown and Rocky Maivia (later known as The Rock), Owen Hart turned on Shamrock, "snapping" his ankle and "biting his ear" in the process. After the attack on Shamrock, Owen joined the Nation of Domination, claiming that "Enough is enough and it's time for a change".
The Nation's first big feud after Owen joined was against the freshly turned D-X, a feud that was a natural for Owen. It was during this feud that one of D-Generation-X's most famous skits occurred as D-X parodied the Nation of Domination. The imitation was complete with Jason Sensation dressing up as Owen Hart coining the phrase "I am not a nugget", which became a derisive term that followed Owen for the rest of his career."
We also, of course, played "King of My World," over and over again. So we finally get there, park, and head towards the Virgin Mega Store. We get inside and at first we didn't know where we were suppose to go, but that was all solved after asking an employee where to go. It was all the way to the back, in a somewhat secluded section of the store. So once back there the lady checked our wristbands and we got in line. To my surprise the line wasn't as long as I expected it to be. I mean we got in line at say between 7:25pm - 7:30pm, and we were done and out of there by I don't know 9:00pm I guess. Not all to many people showed up behind us either. But anyway, we got up there and I damn near pissed myself being that close to my ing hero. My brother went first. He got up there and went and asked Jericho something he was dying to ask him. "Hey Chris, seeing as your Mr. 1004 holds, have you learned any new ones lately?" And he responded with, "Well, actually, since I haven't been in the ring all too much lately, I'm actually down to 122 holds." He then asked him if he could still do the arm bar and he responded that he still has variations of the arm bar, and that he is working on a new one, called the "Bavarian Arm ." For those of you wondering about the arm bar thing just watch this classic promo of Chris' from his World Championship Wrestling days.
Anyway, that gave the two of us quite a laugh. He got he book signed and his picture taken and then came my turn. I had with me a paper displaying the logo for Top Rope Photography as well as a few pictures of Jericho. He was very gracious to sign it as well as take a picture holding it. He asked me about it as he looked it over and I explained to him that we ware a photograph company that solely focuses on wrestling photography. He was like, "Cool, That's awesome," which was a major plus since I really didn't expect him to take a Picture holding it let alone sign it. I also got a picture taken with Chris without the Top Rope picture. As I walk around the table for my picture with him and he saw my shirt and made the comment, "Three ninjas, my favorite Hogan movie!" I could do nothing but laugh at that one. He was such a nice guy and was so happy to see the fans. I then thanked him and we left. As somewhat of I guess a "bonus," he had his wife and son there. They were sitting off to the side. On our way out his little boy, who I would say is no older than five, kinda came over and said something to us, so my brother was like, "Do you wanna be a wrestler like your dad when you grow up," and he said, "No, I wanna be a hockey player." My brother then asked, "like your grandfather", and Jericho's son replied, "yeah." I thought that was really neat and might I add that his son was adorable. So all in all it was an amazing night! If you ever have a chance to meet this man don't hesitate to do so. He is a class act and really enjoys meeting the "Jerichoholics." Also if you get a chance pick up Chis' book, "A Lion's Tale: Around the World in Spandex," it's a fantastic read. You can find pictures from tonight under the "Pro Wrestlers And Wrestling Personalities" photo album in my Pics. You can also view the autographed book as well as the Top Rope Photography picture under the "Wrestling Related" album. OK, well its 4:38am, I need to be heading to bed! GOODNIGHT ALL!
