I am planning on going to a WWE tryout in a year or so, I was just wondering, what do you have to do in the tryout, also do you have to be trained? Thanks!

Considering some of their talent, you don't have to be well trained.

Yes. kind of a dumb question anyways, your obviously cant tryout in the WWE, let alone compete if your not trained or have no experience.

I think it's a given that you have to be trained. You don't try out for the biggest promotion without having been trained beforehand, although even if you were trained, unless you are extrememly muscular, you are not going to get picked up by WWE.

Hello, To keep the info general, the WWE decides whom they do and do not offer try out matches to. If you might have an in, such as being friends with someone on the Roster, or being Trained by someone with good relations with the Company, it can possibly help your chances. That of course is far from being a lock, and brings me to the next question you had. I always tell those whom might be serious about pursuing Wrestling, whether it be wanting a Full Time Career Path, or someone wanting to be respected as a Solid Worker, that Training at a reputable School is a must. Some might disagree, and though it might not be an absolute must to some, which is fine, my viewpoint is take take it as seriously as any other Career Path that one might endeavor to be amongst the elite at. I hope that helps and I wish you success. All My Best, John www.myspace.com/johnrodeo

Coming from a guy who isnt employed by WWE let alone trained, dont speak. Words spoken from a Cena mark Coming from me, a Cena mark yes, who watches WWE for wrestling? no. Entertainment. Who watches ROH, JAPW, NOAH, etc. for wrestling? yes. No matter which fed you wrestle for, entertainment or wrestling, they still require professional training. btw Classick, no.

Alright, this has turned into an argument about training. I do plan on getting trained, just asking if it was nessecary (sp?), also does anyone know what you have to do for a tryout?

You need to be trained for them to even look at you seriously. You also need to have other aspects besides just wrestling.. you have to have the character and personality for it as well.

Hello, As far as getting a Tryout, generally speaking, the WWE decides whom they do and do not offer try out matches to. That said there might be a couple things you can do to try and increase those odds. It does not hurt if by outside chance you might you might have a friend on the Roster. It also is good to being Trained by someone with good relations with the Company, it can possibly help your chances. Another option is that once you feel you are one of the bestWrestlers in your area, perhaps a Promoter will put in a good word for you. And it is always good to keep your eyes and ears open in case there might be a Training Clinic or Seminar where a WWE Scout or Agent might be attending. Once I I hope this info might be helpful and I wish you well. All My Best, John www.myspace.com/johnrodeo

I know that I'm new here and some might not believe what I'm about to say.
A friend of mine actually got a WWE tryout and was flown out to California during a recent tour over there. He trains at IWF which is a local school/promotion here in Jersey. WWE uses some IWF guys for extras like police and the such. My friend said that he got in the ring with Murdoch (who by the way he said works very stiff) and took a few bumps. Tommy Dreamer among others evaluated him. He said that Tommy said something like to the effect of him cutting good promos and thats something that cannot be teached. They need people that can come across strong on the mic. They weren't too thrilled with his actual wrestling ability but said thats something that can be taught later on. If he can bulk up some muscle mass and get more training they might give him another shot.

Train at a credited school, bulk and cut up, make sure you've had at least one year's work on the indy scene, and get yourself some professional custom gear..I recomend our very own Philibuster Productions, he's who I have my stuff done from. Also, I noticed you were from Canada, you're blessed with many wrestling resources. Try looking into SWA (Storm Wrestling Academy) run by Lance Storm. www.StormWrestling.com. His prices are well worth it, and I beleive he had flexible payment options.

Maybe you should aim your sights a little lower to start, like OVW.
Yes, you need training.
