Just read that the E is gonna stop putting name plates on title belts as a cost cutting measure!??! WTF? It specifically said the big gold belt will no longer have the names of the champion anymore. That just seems crazy. I mean...if they have to make new belts for every single champ....why not just make the plates removeable (if they aren't already) and change em out? Surely it can't be that expensive.

Good. Name plates look the belts look horrible anyway. None of the old school belts had name plates, so it'll be a good 'cost cutting measure' imo.

How is that a cost cutting measure?
You guys realise that they actually DO make a new belt for every person that wins it, right?
When you lose a title in WWE you are given a new belt. Whereas the belt you just won on TV is given to the wrestler who just lost it, as a piece of memorabilia.
Ever wonder how event worn championship belts get into circulation amongst belt collectors? the wrestlers that held them sell them off. (of course this usually only happens with wrestlers that are becoming poor or that just dont care for pieces of memorabilia)
So this cost-cutting measure obviously means that WWE are no longer going to give out free belts to the superstars that held them.
WWE is a "Billion Dollar Company"... why do they need cost cutting measures.. hmmm.. WWE FILMS mustn't have done as well as WWE thought it would... what a shocker..

They don't give a belt to every person that won it. In the past some may have retained the belt (like Warrior) usually that's not the case.

When I first read the topic.. I saw.. I know they're cutting. I was almost sure you found info on some wrestlers cutting themselfs backstage. Oh dear oh dear.
Anyways.. I honestly dont care about the names.

Well if that is true, then how come the Missing jewels are the same when the next person gets it. If you noticed, back around WMx8 time when RVD won the IC belt, it still had the same diamond missing, as Regal or who ever it was before him. If anything they are given a replica.

Because Regal had held the belt before that time. By that stage Regal would have been a multi time champion and would have his belt encased at home, or wherever he keeps them. RVD and Regal will have shared a belt until the end of their program (feud) and they moved on to different opponents.

I really don't see what the big deal is, I mean are we really that stupid that we need a nameplat to tell us who is holding the title?
