Im Confused....now correct me if im wrong....but in order to be known as a champion, dont u have to actually WORK for the company.....example(team 3d said they were wcw champions)dont they have to work for ted turner in order to get known as a champion...same with kurt angle.....they were wcw champions cause wwe merged wit them soo really they were never champions of wcw so they never held those belts.....i know u ppl are gonna lash at me but i thought i would get something cleared up

Kurt's does count. If it didn't Jericho wouldn't be the first undisputed champion because that's when the titles was merged. I'm not sure about 3D.

From a kayfabe perspective... as long as a title's lineage can be traced back to the promotion from which the title belonged, it's legit. From a legal perspective... as long as the company using the foreign title gets permission from, or buys out the promotion the title originated from, it's legit. Such is true in the case of the Dudleyz being WCW Champions in WWE. The Dudleys were 'WCW' tag team champions in name only, but WCW tag team champions nonetheless.

Ok... then using your logic, RVD, The Big Show, Lashley, Morrison and CM Punk weren't (or aren't, in Punk's case) really ECW world champion

Ok... then using your logic, RVD, The Big Show, Lashley, Morrison and CM Punk weren't (or aren't, in Punk's case) really ECW world champion How do you get to that conclussion. Yes they are ECW champions, as Vince bought ECW, and has the belt. The lineage of the belt can be traced back to the origional ECW, and Vince owns the rights. At anytime, Vince could bring out any WCW belt, and *sadly*, it would be legit.
